Will Airtran notify me if there is a change?

I'm watching my flight very closely, because I don't want it to be ANY later arriving in Orlando as it already is. So, my question is - will Airtran notify me right away if there is even a slight change in the flight times??

Another question, not even related to the first:
My husband's name has a "3rd" suffix that I must have forgotten to include on the reservation. Will this be a problem at the airport??

Thanks

Now that you have booked you should be checking your flights at least once a week or more if you are concerned. I would not count on the airline notifying you.

They might, they might not. You don't want to rely on them to do it so you will need to check periodically.

What do you mean by the 3rd suffix? Is it on his identification such as passport or license or is he just a 3rd? I am a jr. and do not have it on my driver's license or passport and do not use it on reservations. I don't think it will be a problem regardless though, but I have not traveled with the new name requirements.

With the new requirements, they have been checking those kinds of things. It clearly states when you make your reservation, the name should be exactly as on your photo ID that you plan to use. It is says "III" on his photo ID, then it must read that way on the ticket.

Actually Air tran has notified me already of a change via email but this is for the better I am leaving earlier than previous flight. If that happen then you have to confirm the change

From my experiences with AirTran DO NOT rely on them to notify you of any schedule changes/cancellations. They normally do send out e-mails, but when they do it is WAY after the change(s) have been made. I agree with an earlier poster that you should be checking their schedule at least once a week.

I caught the AT flight change myself, I've been watching based on past experience with all airlines. I wanted to make sure we were put on another direct flight, they moved us to a connecting flight, and I got it switched to a direct without a hitch. Sometime later I got an e-mail from AT informing us of the change.

We just booked our Airtran tickets. A week later, they moved our return flight so we are leaving MCO 30 minutes earlier. I caught this, and then 3 days later got the e-mail from them asking me to accept the change. So I think they may, but even if they do, it will be several days later.
I would check myself every other day or so, so that if a major change happens, you'll find it quickly and have time to regroup. We had booked with Delta in March, and they messed up our flights so much that they let us get a refund. If I had waited to find out from them, we would have missed the cheaper, non-stop flights we got on Airtran. So my advice is to watch VERY closely! Have a great trip!

On our last trip i received an email to confirm the changes. I just wish they would of made when I was not trying to beat rush hour driving home from Atl.

A few weeks after we booked our flights I was checking on flights for another trip when I noticed that both our departing and returning flights had been moved by nearly four hours. We wouldn't have arrived at the resort until almost midnight. That wasn't going to work. I received no notification, just happened to find it.

The flights had been moved because Airtran suddenly added three more flights each way, probably because the ones they had were filling up fast.

I contacted my agent who got us booked on different flights that fit our schedule. At first Airtran wanted to charge us $300 to make the change, but our agent worked it out with them. Since they changed the flights by more than 1 hour, we had the right to rebook at no charge. It helps to have an agent who will go to bat for you.

we booked with airtran again this year and they have already changed the flight time and never notifed us yet. when we booked with Airtran last year they changed the flight times about 4 times and only notifed us once and it was about 1.5 months before we left and it still changed after just keep watching the website it is your best bet

It also depends on how you booked your tickets if they will contact you. If you book through airtran.com and give them your email address then they will email you changes of the flight schedule, but if you booked through a travel agent, disney, or expedia/travelocity/etc. then they have no way to contact you as all the information they have is to go through the company that you booked with and it is up to the third party to notify you of the changes.

With the new requirements, they have been checking those kinds of things. It clearly states when you make your reservation, the name should be exactly as on your photo ID that you plan to use. It is says "III" on his photo ID, then it must read that way on the ticket.

What are the new requirements? When I booked with Southwest it only asked for first and last names. I have my middle name on my Drivers License. Will this create a problem?

Last year not only did they change the flight time without telling me..they changed us from a direct flight to a layover. It was a good thing I caught it early and got us back on a direct flight.

For our upcoming flights they changed by 10 minutes...they never mentioned it..and it's not a big deal. Also....for our upcoming flights...I assigned our seats and the outbound flight was 2 on one side..3 on the other. Well they changed the plane type to 3 and 3 and put a stranger between myself and my daughter. So not only do I check the filght times regularly..I check the seat assignments too.

Wow we have been lucky then!! because the names have been messed up on 90% of our family flights in the past few years... they even had my husband as Mrs. on the ticket the past two trips.. :rotfl: We have had no delays or issues because of the misspellings and incorrect middle names.. we did not fly airtran though and are going to be for the first time in October on a trip to NYC should I be extra careful on their flights that the names are exact?
