In all the pictures I have seen, it looks like the tables are for 5 or 6 people at the most.

Were you a party of 7 or larger at 'Ohana and how were you seated?

Thanks in advance.:sunny:

I've seen them pull two tables together to seat larger (MUCH larger!) parties at 'Ohana.

I think they have some 8-tops, also... the table in this photo is set for 8:

And they will pull these rectangular 6 tops together to seat even bigger groups:

We love 'Ohana...

Our family was there in November, We had 15 of us at one large table. It was fantastic. It was the first time we had eaten there and loved it. The food was wonderful and the kids activities were great.

A must do.

We went in December with another family. We both had separte PSs, but at check in we asked to be seated together. There was a total of 7 of us and we were at one table. If I remember correctly it was a round table for 8.

Depends on who you talk to,I call to find out how many you could put a table because we have 26 of us.Well I was told that the most you can put at a table is 12,now I read that someone put 15,last year we went and we put 18.Disney is so screwed up it's funny I GUESS DIFFERENT RULES FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE.Needless to say they told me that we have to be seated in the first 15 minute seating or the last 15 minutes.Well we got 6 kids going and the last seating is out and we wanted to see the fireworks.I guess we have to see.

I'm pretty sure there are not "different rules for different people," but when you're trying to accommodate a really large group you do present unique challenges to a restaurant. Large groups typically stay at a table longer than normal sized groups, and this puts different scheduling challenges on the folks that assign PSs. Also, the requirement to have this many diners seated together means that the dining room must block out specific tables for your group, and therefore those tables are not usable for a period of time before your group even arrives... A group of 26 does displace a lot of other diners. Especially if you are traveling during a peak time, you're going to need to be flexible!

With a group that size, I assume you're working with a Grand Gatherings or some sort of large group coordinator?

wdw gang,

Yes, unfortunately, a large group must take the first or last seating. I believe this is how group dining is required to handle the PS.

Also, any Grand Gathering groups of 8 or more are only being offered the first and last seatings. Some people split up their PS's into smaller groups to get their desired time.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'd take the first seating and have a nice long meal while enjoying the children's games they offer at 'Ohana.

Have a wonderful trip!

I tried to make seating for two tables of 13 but they told me that it couldn't be done. The point I'm trying to make is that some people can put more than 13 at a table and it's O.K. So if they can do it for so they should be able to do it for eveyone.

Did they change the rules? We had 15 people on Xmas day '04 at 'Ohana at one long table) at 7:30pm. No problem and it was great watching Wishes right from the restaurant.
