I plan on going to WDW for anywhere between 10-12 days. It will be just me and my girlfriend. We will most likely stay at a Value resort (small possiblity of Moderate). We are only do WDW. I am a farley conservative person with my money but I need to know if $4,500 would be enough money for the whole trip? Includeing plane tickets, park tickets (with hopper pass and water parks & more), value Dinsey hotel, food, and merchandise. So would that ammount of money cover everything?

We're doing POFQ for 5 days come November. For 4 of us in 2 rooms with Hoppers and Disney Dining its costing roughly $2300 before airfare. So unless you're massive shoppers, $4500 should be more than enough for 2 of you in a value resort for 10 days.

PS My goal was to RV it to save even more money. I just couldn't talk the rest of them into FW! :wave2:

Try going on the WDW resort page and fill in your dates and preferences, and you'll get a cost for your trip. You are not obligated any further than that. :)

when are you planning on going?? It really depends on the "season" you are going in Disney World (value?). Are you going when Disney is having something going on???

I spent 3,300 for 9 days in April staying at a moderate. If you get cheap plane tickets that should be way more than enough.

I don't think you'll have any problem. Our first stay in 04 we stayed at pop for 9 nights and w/ airfare we spent less than $2100. We got an excellent rate from SW on airfare.

We just got back from a 10 day stay at a value resort. My wife already had an AP from last year so we did not need to buy a park ticket for her. I got a new AP and we got 2 seven day non-hoppers for my DD and DGS. The trip cost us about $3500.00 total, but I got really great airfare plus we got an AP discount on the room and got 20% off on all our TS meals with the DDE card.

I agree with others that you will have more than enough to cover your costs. It sounds like you are planning wisely. My husband and I are conservative also and we save a little at a time and take our WDW trips every two years. Then while we are there, we no longer focus on the money, but just enjoy the fruits of our labors! I hope you and your girlfriend have a wonderful trip!

My husband and I are staying at All Star Music in September for 10 days. We're planning on spending $1,500 and this includes EVERYTHING except for souvineers and incidentals (it includes hotel, food, rental car, and plane tix). We're taking advantage of the free dining plan, so that saves a bunch of money!!! However, we're annual pass holders so we don't need to buy park passes.

Where will you be flying from and when will you be going? We might be able to give you a rough budget with that information.

If you are not renting a car and staying on Disney property for the entire trip, you may want to consider the dining plan if you will be eating all your meals at Disney anyway. That way your meals are fully paid in advance and you won't need to worry about how much you're spending there. At $35 a day each, for 10 days, would be $700. Read some of the posts in the Restaurants forum about the dining plan to see if you think it might work for you. Most people say you get more than enough to eat, at less than you would normally spend if eating exclusively at Disney.

That's not to say that is what I would normally do as my husband and I always had a car and always did other things in the area when we visited as tourists. But it might be an option for you since you said you are only doing WDW.

Be sure to subscribe to mousesavers newsletter to get the best prices on park tickets.

If you continue to read the DISboard you will find a lot of ways to save money and budget. Don't forget that if you make ressies before June 4th there is free dining for travel time beginning is August.

You will need to buy at least a one-day park pass for everyone in your party in order to have the free dining package.

With $4500 budgeted for a 10-12 day trip you'll have more than enough money for air, lodging, passes, food, ect.... but I'd suggest you spend half your nights at a value property and the other half at a deluxe property. Since your their for a long stay it might be fun to spend time at another, more upscale property even if it's only for the final couple nights.

You could also upgrade the entire stay to a moderate property.

The upgrade is well worth the price if you can afford it! :cool1:

While the deluxe resorts are great, don't feel obligated to do this. DBF and I spent a week at Pop Century and had a great time. We really didn't wish we spent more on the resort because we were having so much fun doing other stuff. The room was clean and nice, the theming fun and the pools and food court are great. Sure, it'd be fun to stay at a deluxe one day, but if you're worried about money, save on the resort (I promise, when you're sleeping you don't care how much the room cost as long as it's clean and comfy).

I second the suggestion of the dining plan though. It makes sticking to a budget completely painless because it's all prepaid and you can get virtually whatever you want. we only spent $100 after checkin last trip, almost all on souveniers, because food was totally prepaid. Unless you really want to eat exclusively counter service, the dining plan works out in your favor. And it's so relaxing to sit down and go "wow, I can have whatever I want and I dont' have to pay more!"

have a great trip! -Meg

Check out packages on aavacations. My DH and I are going December 1-8 with park hopper for seven day including dining package, airfare,a room at Pop Century and a rental car it is only 2,000 dollars. Booking it through them made our airfare extremely cheap. Even when I called them in regards to a change in the iternary the person at aa vacations commented on how cheap the airfare portion was. :lovestruc

We generally stay at the ASMo during value season. I never spend more than $2000 for everything for me and my son. You should be fine with $4500.

11 day split trip at CBR (moderate) and AKL (deluxe) during value season (11/30 - 12/10), dining plan, 2 days at Universal, town car transportation, 2 tix to MVMCP, etc., etc., etc. We are splurging on this trip since it will be our last until our honeymoon and even with all the little extras, we are spending under $4k. We booked through AAA for the initial discount and have worked off our past experiences and other's tips. You've come to the right place!!
