Just as important as the fit is making sure (by calling the rental company to find out the model year and then checking out the same model Taurus by calling a local dealer) that the center seat will have a lap/shoulder belt, which is the only kind that's safe with a booster. More and more cars have these in the middle, but not all, so you need to check. Also, if you use a low back booster, make sure that the seat back either has headrests or is high enough that it is at or above the level of each child's ears. If you use high back boosters, you don't have to worry about that. I know this is a nuisance, because I've had to do it, but it is better to check now than have a problem when you get there! I found out what type of car we might be getting (there were a couple of possibilities) and then went to our local dealer with booster and child to test it out.
