Will 2 ECVs fit?

We usually rent a minivan to fit 2 rental ecvs in the back. We typically take the batteries out and lift into the back. (Our arms are strong but our legs are not!) Prices somewhat higher for the minivan as compared to a mid size suv. HAs anyone loaded an ecv into the back of a Rav 4? If we drop the tiller, will 2 fit in the back with the seats down?

Typically, SUV's have less cargo room than the average mini-van, even with the seats down. I have absolutely ZERO experience with the Rav 4 - so here is what I would do if I was in your situation: I would go to the manufacturer's website for the Rav 4, and get the specifications for the vehicle. There should be info there on the "cargo area". You could also call (or even go by, with tape measure in hand) a local dealer, or car rental agency to ask about the exact dimensions of the cargo area.

Remember that most SUV's have a slightly higher "sill height" (meaning the height from the ground to the floor of the vehicle that you will load into). So, be prepared to possibly lift a little higher, and "smoosh" the ECVs in a bit tighter.

A RAV-4 isn't a very big SUV. Even with the seats down I think it will be difficult if not impossible to get 2 ECV's in the back. Not only is the area from top to bottom and front to back shorter than a minivan, but the RAV-4 isn't as wide. You risk doing damage to either the ECV's or the RAV-4 which could cost you more than the upgrade price to the van. Plus, as a previous poster mentioned, you will have to life the ECV's higher to get them in to an SUV.

Hi,

I visit WDW every year from the UK, we usually hire a Chevrolet Traverse as we have two scooters (the price is so much higher for a minivan). We are able to comfortabley fit 1 4 wheel Pride Gogo and 1 3 wheel pride go go in the rear of the car complete (we don't take anything but the arms off). We are very lucky that my brother travels with us so he is able to much of the lifting as I have a back & leg issues. I have hired a RAV 4 for a scooter previously but at the time we only had one so I wouldn't be able to say if it would be any good for two sorry :(.

Hope this helps though.

I had a RAV4 and agree with the poster who mentioned they are narrow and the storage space in the back is small. We had difficulty when we had it getting DD's wheelchair to fit.

I have a Rav4 and it's built on a car body so it's not as high to get in (part of the reason why I like it - easy for me to get in an out of) but I'd say I'm not sure if 1 ECV could fit in the back let alone 2. Like Sue said, sometimes I have trouble fitting a standard wheelchair in the back. It has to be at just the right angle. I am looking to get an ECV for everyday use and that's one of the things im trying to figure out - how I can get it in my car!
