Wildest Disney Rumor You've Ever Heard...

I'm going to move this to our rumors board.

Disney is planning to build a monorail system that will connect Walt Disney World and Disneyland. So save up your money for a platinum annual pass!!

Best rumor... Hmm...

I'd have to say that it's a tie between that Epcot or Animal kingdom will get an new country/land and that Pixar Place will get a Monsters Inc attraction.

That's easy IMHO. That would have to be Dark/Villian/whateveryouwanttocallit Kingdom. AKA a 5th gate.

It's Implausible at this point in time and it will be for AT LEAST 15 Years.

Its much more than any rumored settling.

First, were would you put the crane? You would have to remove all the planters and landscaping and flatten all the land around the hotel.

Next you would have to remove, probably with jackhammers, all the trim around the outside of the rooms.

Next disconnect all the utilities including the sewer connection and pull out the room and then lift it away. Oh you would also have to have a complete set of rooms ready to install.

I wasn't seriously suggesting they try to take one out, hence the little :) after my comment before.

Someone once told me, dead serious, that the water had been removed from PotC (at Disneyland) and it now has a ride system like Haunted Mansion. I think they heard on the news that the water was drained (for cleaning) and misunderstood...

My wife and I took the KTTK tour back August and the issue of the fifth park came up. The guide explained to us that WDW currently employs 60,000 people. If you figure 10,000-12,000 per park, you realize that its nearly impossible for Disney to find enough workers in the Orlando area (at least workers that fit the Disney requirements) to staff another park.

In essence, Disney has run dry the employment market, making it impossible to build another park.

As PP posted, in this article, it wouldn't take 10,000-12,0000 people to employ that park. As here would be limited admission (like Discovery Cove at SeaWorld), and thus wouldn't need as many employees. The article mentions 4,000 there daily, so easily, you could have way less than 10,000 actually working there.

Also, I heard this park was going to open soon (like that link mentions) but then 9/11 happened, and then the economy crashed. I've heard it's still in the books, but has been put on the back burner for an unforeseeable future until the economy turns back around for good. Which could be awhile.

I got fooled on April Fool's Day by someone posting on this board that Miley Cyrus was casted as Alice in the new Alice in Wonderland. Also, rumors were swirling that Disney Channel Stars were going to replace Aerosmith at Rock 'n' roller coaster, which, if it became true, would kill me.

It was said that the Haunted Mansion castmembers would have a costume change after the [awful] movie came out in 2003 -- And that they would be dressed as real estate agents. Instead of being creepy, their angle was that they were giving tours of the estate to try and sell it.

Thank goodness the movie flopped.
Also,
The Haunted Mansion movie was supposed to have sequels, similar to how PotC has so many. And that the first PotC movie was supposed to be the last.

Whoops!

I actually read a 'confessions' type thing from someone who used to play Jack Sparrow at Disneyland. I guess he got propositioned by guests quite often, as long as he stayed in costume.
:rotfl2::rotfl2: I can see that to be true!!! lol!!!!!! :lmao::lmao: Those costumes ARE right on!!! Ah ha ha!!!!

One that I hear is the next theme park will be built w/ an American History Theme.:confused3 Anyone every hear this one?

YES! And that it was going to be built in the DC suburbs of Virginia.
When we were thinking of moving there, I can't tell you how many times I read that one on forums.

The Wildest rumor I heard was the one where there was supposed to be a Kingdom Hearts-styled attraction at Disneyland, but it ended up being a cruel April 1st joke :sad1:

Step dad says his grandmother was engaged to Walt but her father wouldnt allow her to marry a "poor artist."

Love my stepdad to death but dont believe a word of this one!:rotfl:

 that's the best one on this thread!!

That Universal is going to re-theme all of their Marvel Attractions, basing them on DC characters (bear in mind, DC is owned by Warner Brothers, and is linked to Six Flags/Great America). This will allow Tomorrowland to be redone with all Marvel attractions!

I love DC comic characters! I could just see them changing the Spiderman ride to an animated Batman ride or the Doctor Doom ride to Superman. I could also totally see Hawkman taking over The Hulk ride. I hope this rumor comes true! I am such a nerd!

Also, I saw few other posters mention a rumor about Disney planning a villain’s park. I would like to see Disney expand MK with a land for villains with themed rides. I'm not sure how popular a villain’s park would be for kids, but I'm sure a lot of adults, including myself, would love it!
