Wilderness villas

We are planning on staying at the Wilderness villas. Any opinions on this DVC resort?

We just got back. This is a very attractive, well-themed resort. Two pieces of advice:

1) Give yourself time at the resort - there are two pools, bikes and boats to rent, trails, movies on the beach and various activities. This resort deserves time spent there, I wish we had made more.

2) Request to be close to the elevators/main lodge. It saves a longer walk, and you will be walking into the main lodge and to the buses a lot.

Good advice by noahandallison. Quiet resort, relatively speaking, with a more serene ambience than most other Disney resorts. Sit on the beach and watch the EWP, and you can even see parts of Wishes off in the distance behind the Contemporary. Walk the nature trail between WL and FW. Enjoy the hot tub. Visit Artist Point. Take the boat to MK. So much there that speaks to us. Enjoy!

It's one of our favorites! I agree, plan to spend some time around the resort itself. You can also take a boat over to CR and hop on the monorails from there if it's something you want to do.

It's our home resort, so of course we think it is the best of all the DVC (VGC comes in a very close second). We like hiking over to Fort Wilderness, and then taking the boat back.

Roaring Fork makes a great Wilderness Salad! When I stay at BLT, I take the boat over to get one, every time!

As someone who really likes the concept of camping at fort wilderness (did so once back in 1977) but does not like the actual reality of it, Wilderness Lodge is perfect. All the hotel amenities without having to deal with bugs and other things that make camping less attractive to me. Plus you can still walk through the woods over to the campground.

For what the lodge misses by not being directly connected to a park, it makes up for with its great lobbies and theming. In addition, it's like a vacation within a vacation because it and fort wilderness are a little isolated without being far away. The MK and CR are just a short boat ride away!

It's our favorite resort. We love taking the boats over to magic kingdom and contemporary. It can't be beat during the holidays
