It was jsut another recreation area of FW, a walking in the woods kind of thing. My guess is that maintenance costs got a little high (all the bridges/bordwalks and they just abandoned it. There were a lot of things that I enjoyed in the early days of FW that were abandoned because of cost/benefit analysis. In my opinion Disney now stresses the things that make them money (golf cart rental, boat rental....) and is slowly dropping things that just add to the basic enjoyment of FW.
