Going to WDW in January 2006 and thinking of staying at the WL. What is the best view and floor to request? :wave2:

To me, my best view would have to be the inner courtyard view. The higher the floor, the better. It seems less noise.

I like watching the gyser errupt... I like people watching.. I enjoy watching the EWP from my balcony... I enjoy the serenity and the beauty of what nature has to offer (the beautiful lake..watching the boat passby.. the sky and the Florida pine trees.. ;) ) If you are facing towards MK, you can see some fireworks (the high ones from MK).

We are staying at WL in Nov./Dec. I requested a room on the 4th,5th, or 6th floor, courtyard view. The Unofficial guidebook gives specific room numbers of good rooms and "not so good" rooms.

Fantasia said it perfectly!

What she said is exactly what I would have said.

While DW and I are fans of the Unofficial Guide, we were placed in one of the "undesirable" rooms (didn't know this until later) and we had a wonderful experience.

Our room was 5075 (If you are facing the Lodge from the lake, the balcony is immediately to the upper left of the terrace. We had a beautiful view of the lake, pool and geyser, and I would often be out on the balcony in the morning while DW showered, looking at the ducks swimming in the stream. We were right off the lobby, very close to the elevators, and while you would hear noise from Whispering Canyon from time to time, it was never enough to bother us.

My only regret for this trip is that we switched from WL to AKL, but only due to economics. We will still be back to eat at AP and WCC and probably go boating as well.

Looking forward to trying WL again, but probably not until it's done with renovations.

I agree with Fantasia as well.... inner courtyard, top floors
