I know the location is wonderful and we are due to go to the Lodge in December for a week. Can anyone advise me on what we can do in or around the Lodge for a 50 year old male, me, a younger gorgeous wife and 12 year old son?:thumbsup2

We plan to hire some boats on the lake, walk through to Fort Wilderness for horse riding as well as the usual pool, eat and drink.
The outdoor movies will also get a lookin a few times....

Weather permitting they have movies on the beach following marshmallows over the campfire- all free! During the film their is a water parade with floats, all lit up, really cute.

Hidden Mickey hunt- ask the front desk for the sheet
Electrical Water Pagent - every night on Bay Lake at 9.30pm
Boat and bike rentals from the marina

At check in they will give you an activities sheet which lists everything going on and what the nightly movie under the stars is. If you do the movie remember the insect repellent ;)

my favorite thing when staying at WL is the boat to the magic kingdom - very relaxing!!

in addition to what's already been mentioned, we always rent bicycles and ride to fort wilderness and back....my kids love that!!

oh and we also always go on a guided fishing excursion. costs about $250 + tip, but we really enjoy it!! I don't remember if it's for 2 or 3 hours.

I answered this question when you asked a couple of months ago. Here is a link in case you didn't see the original replies.
