I just booked the Wilderness Lodge for 129.00 per night befor taxes for September. Is this a good rate for this hotel?

I am traveling with dh and dd, who will almost be five. We were going to stay outside the park but thought it may be easier to stay in WDW. Does anyone know how long of a commute it is from WL to Mk via the boat?

Any information about this resort would be very helpful, as I have booked it but need to put my deposti down in the next couple of days.

Thanks!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

That's a very good rate.

When we were there in Nov. 2000, the boat trip was very quick. We were at MK within a few minutes. I've read varying reports on the boat trip recently, and - worse case scenario - there seems to be a side trip to FW in there sometimes.

I'm a HUGE WL fan...so I'm completely biased. We are going back this year on the Villas side. I've stayed at AsMu, CR, POR, Poly, WL and off-site - and WL is my favorite...hands down.

If you have never set foot inside WL, then I guarantee you will think it is a GREAT rate once you step inside the lobby. It's very impressive...pictures don't do it justice. But, like I said, I'm biased!

Have a great vacation!

We loved the boat ride to MK! It is a very relaxing ride to and from the busy park. WL is a wonderfully themed hotel and the lobby is just awesome. $129.00 is a great rate. I don't think you will be disappointed!

You will not regret your decision....if you want any more inside tips and helpful hints (or just any general questions you may have answered) check out the "NEW Wilderness Lodge FAQ!!!" on the Resort Board. There are even pics posted. So, check it out, and WELCOME ABOARD!!

That is a great rate! We loved the WL in November 2000. It was absolutely beautiful and it quickly became our new favorite Disney resort. Enjoy!

You will be amazed by 3 things when you first step into the lobby at WL.
#1) that you got that awesome rate for that incredible hotel.
#2) that you even considered staying outside of Disney. Once in WL, youll never think of doing that again.
#3) that its even possible for such a breathtaking lobby and hotel to exist.

the boat ride is also great. Its very relaxing and convenient. By the way, do your family a favor and head over to Fort Wilderness. The buffet they have there is awesome. Trust me.

We stayed in the WL in April with the $129+tax rate (143.20) and thought it was one of the best hotel deals we've ever gotten! We had stayed at the WL a few times before and LOVED it, but that was at Christmas time with all of the beautiful decorations... would we like it in April??? Absolutely!!! So much so, we booked it for 10 days at the end of August/beginning of September at the same rate! The Wilderness Lodge is absolutely beautiful! The theming is absolutely flawless and feels like you are in Yellowstone or at the Ahwanee in Yosemite. You will love the Wilderness Lodge, especially at the rate you got!

We usually stay at BW, but it is looking like we will be at WL this summer. How is the (themed) pool at WL, does it have a slide, and will the kiddos (8 & 10 yrs) enjoy it....

thanks...

:D

The pool is awesome.
It does have a slide.
The theme is that there is a river that flows through the lobby, out the lobby, down a waterfall and into the pool. So if you go to one end of the pool there is a small current from the water flowing in. My kids loved tp try and sswim "upstream"
Also my DDs (4 and 8) loved the slide.

We also love the WL. I have tried to persuade my husband and daughters to try another resort, and they don' t even hear that suggestion! After a long day at the parks,it's nice to return home and have just a short walk to the snack bar, to the elevator and then to our room. That's convenient! The boaat ride to the MK is magical, and always sets the mood for another fantastic trip.

My family has stayed at the WL three times and love it. I think you have a wonderful rate! The boat ride to the MK is a great ride in itself and our son in law liked it as much as some of the rides in the park. I am sure you will be quite pleased.

That is a fabulous rate. The best deal I got--ever--at WDW was the $119/night rate at WL in 1998. Your rate is even better with inflation. You won't be disappointed. The place is gorgeous.
