Woods pretty much surround WL. We had a view of the woods but was able to see MK fireworks from that side as well. Its just so nice and peaceful at the Lodge, that the view isnt a big deal, IMO. Enjoy!
So, there really is a difference between standard and woods view, or not? I thought I had booked standard, but when I got the papers it said woods view. (I'm wondering if that was the lowest category that had a AAA rate available.)

Woods View rooms are considered a step up from Standard View rooms because they overlook only the woods, while Standard View rooms either overlook the service area or roof peaks.
As for the change between your reservation and the papers you received, maybe the AAA thing is the reason, or maybe you were upgraded.
Just a note - In February we had a bunk bed "woods view" room. Turned out the view was of rooftops/bus stop & a few trees in the distance. VERY noisy in the mornings with teens shouting back and forth at the bus stop & the power washing going on. We were all ill with the flu & transferring rooms which wore me out otherwise I probably would have complained.
Lesson learned - woods view does NOT mean you will see woods.
