Hi, me. my sister and DD are staying at Wilderness lodge in february, (due to building work at AKL), hope we like it, as I am not sure about the theming, has anybody stayed here what is it like.
Both the theming and the architecture are very similar to AKL having been designed by the same person. The lobbies are strikingly similar. The rooms at both have a rustic feel with carved wooden furniture. Those at WL have recently been refurbished.
We loved the feel of the resort & often caught the boat to MK. DD loved both the quiet & main pool & also the TV in the main lobby showing cartoons! I'm sure you will have a great holiday
Stunning resort - TBH I can't imagine anyone not liking it! The lobby is particularly impressive. If you haven't checked it out already, there's lots of photos of the resort here. Great location too...
Hi, thanks for your positive replies, It does look nice, I was looking forward to the African theming of AKL however the location of WL will suite us better as we are only there for a week and will be spending most of our time at Magic Kingdom and the Epcot area. The theming looks fun for kids as well.
Wilderness Lodge is fantastic, we liked it so much we bought our first DVC points there. Now we get to stay there for two weeks, two years in every three - we stay at the Beach Club Villas (our other DVC home) for the third year. Two weeks in WDW every year
We stayed in both at Christmas and even though, as Deb said the theming and the architecture are very similar the WL one hands down for us There was something special about it which we just didn't feel at AK and the location was spot on.
