Wilderness Lodge w/o boats is a failure - also affects Fort Wilderness

I'm sure most know they are working on the boat dock at WL. They are supposed to have extra busses (4 instead of the normal 2). They don't and only 2 busses are on the route.

Fireworks ended and one bus left 10 minutes later. 45 minutes (10:05) after the fireworks there had only been a total of four busses and there were at least enough people still 0in line to fill two more busses. We had a long line and every other place had busses pulling up and then leaving empty since they had no one waiting.

I will be reaching out to Guest Services and Logistics about it. They should have our 4 busses or have a Transport Lead re-routing other busses that are running empty to get rid of our WL guests.

If you are staying at Fort Wilderness, take the boat it will be a much better option.

that sounds very frustrating ☹️ It's always crazy once fireworks are over, but add the lack of busses and that would be awful.

Wow, that's awful! The worst of it is that you're basically trapped at that point. You can't get an Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van because those would all be booked solid for an hour+ by that time. When the buses work, they're fine. When they don't, you get to stand at a bus stop for and hour or more. We once waited 40 minutes for a bus from AOA to MK. We could have just driven, but we kept thinking the bus would surely be there any minute, and we didn't want to have to park at the TTC.

I must say, I am concerned with the size of LSL and the already existing boat traffic that it could make for some rough logistics traveling around WL, CFW, and LSL. Too much of the infrastructure is already over-burdened. If I were Josh, I'd be roughly doubling the number of buses and boats serving the Deluxe resorts. That has to take priority and be a smoother experience. They could even come right out and claim it as a benefit of Deluxe over Moderate/Value.

As a CCV owner, this is my main concern too. While it will be nice to have a neighborhood and amenities to walk to, I think WL, FW and LSL will end up being the worst locations on property for getting around.

Yeah, they'll probably do what they did with the Poly Tower where they do a bunch of "analysis" and conclude that the current infrastructure is sufficient for the load. And everyone just waits in longer lines for everything.

The most optimistic outlook would be a world where Disney adds even more new boats and busses to LSL than they need, and it makes transit even easier at WL/FW/LSL than it was before. But it's really hard to see that happening.

Since the inception WL the transportation has been an issue for us. We try to only stay there for a pre or post cruise night. Sorry if your transportation frustration was a new experience.

They could widen the monorail so it hits wilderness lodge. Problem solved!
I actually love that the WL is NOT connected by the monorail, it adds to the more relaxed and secluded atmosphere. There aren't nearly as many people just milling around. I love the Poly, but I will admit, sometimes the number of people who are not guests there make it a little less enjoyable.
