Wilderness Lodge vs. Wilderness Campground Cabins

What is everyone's thoughts on these 2

cabin vs a room at the Lodge

they are pretty different.

the cabins have a full size bed with bunk beds in the bedroom,
in the livingroom it has a murphy bed. there is also a full kitchen.
fw has patios w/table and grill. these are part of the cabins.

the lodge (inn) has 2 queen beds. It is a room.
WL has balconies.

I'd say to really think about what atmosphere you want on this vacation. While I enjoyed the extra space and kitchen of the cabin, I personally missed the convenience of having a hotel lobby to wander into to visit shops, get a drink, etc. I like to walk around where "things are going on". Now, I'm sure others would say that they liked the privacy and quietness of the cabin atmosphere. Ft Wilderness is beautiful, and if you'd like to go for quiet walks, it would be ideal. We really found it necessary to rent the golf cart at FW. It was over $40/day then, and is even more now I think. I'm actually a Wyndham Bonnet Creek convert now!

We love the cabins and the whole atmosphere at the campground.To us its alot more peaceful and laidback.We even did a camping trip with tent and all,tell ya what that was one of the best weekends I ever had.Now my DW,its a different story.If it does not have 4 walls and a door she hates it.

We loved the cabins and the extra space...but I can see how in a way it really can feel like you are not actually staying onsite- it lacks some of the magic of Disney. It could be a campground anywhere in the US...

Having said that we loved the extra space, loved having full kitchen for making breakfasts and lunches and loved the grounds of FW! My kids spent hours at the kids splash zone area and never grew bored. Plus refillable mugs were great bonus- and filled right there at snack bar near pool!!!

My BIL stayed at WL while we stayed at FW. WL was beautiful and we went there for dinner at WCC...it is much more a traditional hotel type room. No making bacon and eggs for breakfast in your room at WL! LOL!!
