I am taking my twin 5 year old daughters & grandparents to stay at Wilderness Lodge "home away from home" 2BR unit starting Feb 22. I wonder if anyone else has experience with these units - is there any preferable choice of "views" one might request when checking in? Also, does anyone know if you can view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from Wilderness Lodge? Any advice is welcome!

Thanks!

I would request a "woods view" and mid level floor. we were in a 1br of a two bedroom "lock off" room number 4535 with 4533 was the studio (2nd bedroom). and the view was nice of the woods and lake beyond. You could look to the left and see the quiet pool and the regular WL.

I think very few rooms from WL can see the fire works, and the Villas are on the far side of the WL so I doubt ANY VWL room could have a "good" view of the fireworks.

Myself and another DVC member took a "Specality cruise" from the rental docks at WL last friday and it was great. I would look into one of those.

Adding to MikeScott8's comments, though you may not be able to view fireworks from the VWL rooms, you can always walk down to the beach area. Some of the higher fireworks can be seen from there.

WL and VWL are AWESOME!!! Have a wonderful time!

We stayed in a 2br last year and I requested a high floor, but close to the elevators. We had the perfect room overlooking the quiet pool. We could not see the fireworks, but we did see much of the electric water parade.

We stayed in a one bedroom villa last month and had a similar view. (We made the same requests.) We saw the tops of the fireworks, but it was from the Very Merry Christmas Party. Maybe those fireworks are bigger(?)

You will love the VWL. They are beautiful.
