We are planning a trip in February with 4 adults, 3 kids (ages 4,6.9). My MIL has COPD so she can't walk fast or long distances without stopping to rest. Which villa would you recommend (i.e. convenience to transportation, restaurants, pools, etc.)? Thanks for any input!

Didn't care for managements' response to an issue @ BCV last Oct. (although the SAB is great).

I'm partial to WLV & BWV:love: . For your needs, I'd give the nod to BWV for the friendship boat service to both MGM & Epcot. Although it's a good walk to the bus stop from the Villas. Also many dining opportunities.

WLV does have the boat to MK; and the villas are close to the bus stop.

You may want to check into renting a transport chair jik; the hallway @ BWV is infamous lol; we've had the most far-flung room @ WLV - another hike from the elevators...good luck!

Our favorite park is the MK, so we obviously always stay at the VWL. We absolutely love the place! We can ride the boat over to the MK, the Contemporary, and FW. The whole layout of the villas are so beautiful. Our room on our last trip gave us a view of the villas pool and Bay Lake.

with kids that young - MK will be the main park - so VWL. despite it not being on the monrail or walking distance.

BWV is nice too.

get her a wheelchair from the front desk (they are free) or bell services. then pretend that you need it for the kids or packages or yourself. It won't take her long to decide she needs it....:rotfl:

Based on the kids ages, it would be hard to argue against VWL.

Not sure if you are DVC or are renting points, but availability may be an issue and I wouldn't wait too long to make a decision -- then find out space isn't available!

Good luck and enjoy your vacation!

BWV. Gorgeous, nice main pool area, fun atmosphere, and very close to Epcot and MGM.

There is no guarantee that your resort will have any wheelchairs to lend when you arrive. WDW does recommend that you rent from one of the off-site rental places if you need to make sure you have one.
I'd suggest that if you plan to borrow one from your resort, you also take along some contact information for the off site rental places (you can find information about this in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the disABILITIES Board).

BWV is notorious for it's long corridors. Endlessly long corridors.

BCV has two sets of elevators. VWL and BWV have one set of elevators. VWL has boat transportation to the MK, buses to all others. BCV and BWV have boat or walking to Epcot or Disney Studios. Buses to MK and AK.

Rooms are all very similar at these three resorts. Minor differences.

Each of the villas have a pool close to the villa. More restaurants available at the Epcot resorts. But WL has a food court, BWV doesn't and BCV has the Marketplace with limited self service food choices.
