Wilderness Lodge "various views"

hi all,

We're thinking of booking a trip the weeks before Christmas and I was getting prices on the various views at the Wilderness Lodge. I definately want to get the bunks for my kids, but noticed there is a significant difference in price with Woods View Bunk and Courtyard View Bunk. Of course there is also the supersaver standard view which I'm sure is of the parking lot.

Is the Courtyard view worth the extra money? I'm assuming it's a view of the pool, but I don't mind looking at trees. I know they can't guarantee a view of the lagoon, but is there such a thing? Is that considered "courtyard view?" There was nothing on Disney.com that stated "Lagoon View."

Any Wilderness Lodge experts out there? :goodvibes

thanks a bunch!

Yes I believe the view of Bay Lake falls under the courtyard view although the boards call them "deluxe rooms".

We usually like the "woodsviews" as they are more private and both times in recent stays that we've had a woodsview room we've faced north and have been able to watch "Wishes"--it is partially obstructed by the trees, but still enjoyable to watch.

Last time we stayed there we had a woodsview and could see the monorail and the CR and the time before we could actually see the castle in the distance.

We've had a courtyard view several years ago but we're all the way on the top floor and the patio rail was "closed in" so you had to stand up to see below.

We've had a standard room which overlooked the bus stop (not too appealing and a bit noisey in the morning).

There should be a WL thread with all the "in's and out's" of the WL. Here's the thread:

In my opinion, the courtyard view is not worth the extra money. One reason why is that the consider the rooms facing the villas courtyard view. I would go with woods view as your view will be that, looking at the woods. Of course you can take your chances for an upgrade. In all the times we have gone, we have had bunk beds and never paid for anything but standard. When you arrive, just say you heard that bunkbeds were available and if they are not crowded or booked up, they will most likely upgrade you.

We're different :) We booked a woods view (for the bunk beds, not view) and asked for a lobby-facing room :)

Love 'em lobby-facing rooms, especially during Christmas season.
