Wilderness Lodge Special Request Question

Is there an Otter Pond at WL? Perhaps guests mistook the Ambassador's little delegates frolicking? Most likely it was Mrs. Ambassador telling otter-sighting tales at Trout Pass.

We understand that you may fax your room requests, in order of preference, to the Room Assigner 3-4 days in advance of your check-in date. But first, you should make sure your requests are noted on your original reservation info: call and make the request tomorrow at your convenience.

Please let me know if the Otter Pond is a WL hidden treasure. Thank you.

This is from the Wilderness Lodge FAQ page.

WOODS VIEW: These rooms are located above the front desk on floors 5 & 6. North side woods view rooms are on floors 1-6 and face the "otter pond"(a handful face MK).

I syaed at an otter room woods view, could see the otter but better then that got to see the castle changing colors at night. this was in 1998 so i can remeber the room but it was nice:thumbsup2

Yes there is an Otter pond on the north side.

I would make your request when you make your reservation. If you have already made the ressie, then call them back and add it on. You can also ask about it when you check in.

The Dis is where I heard about the pond, but I have never seen it. I have stayed at the WL 2 times and the last trip I tried to find a path around the side of the building to find the pond, but I was unsuccessful. Does anyone have any pictures of it? I'd LOVE to see it! We requested a woods view room the last time and was given a 1st floor courtyard instead. We enjoyed the ducks on the patio.

Have north wing, high floor request added to your reservation.

Just so you know, we had a 6th floor North wing room last summer. The entire four days we were in our room, we never once saw any wildlife in the "otter pond". It just looked like a puddle.

How and when do I make a special request ie high floor and otter pond

All the rooms at Wilderness Lodge that overlook the Otter pond are Woods View so if you have booked a Woods View the best request would be. North Wing 5th or 6th floor overlooking the Otter Pond. This should be added to your to request through CRO as the Lodge doesn't accept fax's.
