I am going to Disney in June and I am staying at WL, I have been here two times before but when I was 7 and 8. I was wondering if there are any big changes or any secrets that some people may not know about. Like hidden mickeys.

Ask at the front desk for a treasure hunt map for the hidden mickey's. There is one on the fireplace in the lobby that is hard to find! A CM helped us. It was fun to do though!

The main pool is still open and typically not very crowded due to the construction.

There's a new kids' splash area, and the main pool (the only one currently open), now has a fence around it though it is quite in keeping with the theme. Beach is gone; hidden Mickey's still there. Nature trail (the one paralleling the lake) is gone; lanterns, music, and cricket chirping still there. Hidden Springs pool area is gone; restaurants still going strong. No s'mores or movies on the beach; still show the movies off the lobby over at the Villas. The magnificent lobby and the lovely boats to CR, FW, and MK still a huge draw. Overall, I think the Lodge is still a gorgeous place to stay, but it does have some construction pains to get through.
