Allearsnet says that the trees obscure most of the view but has anyone been there lately who can suggest tips for getting a room w/ a view of the castle & fireworks?

The room view sticky thread has an awesome picture of from room 5032 but I don't know when it was taken. I'd really appreciate some advice so I can add a request to a package reservation.

Thank you.

When we were ther last year we had rooms above the Whispering Canyon Restaurant (Magic Kingdom side) of the Lodge on the 6'th floor and i could video tape the fireworks while on the balcony

Hi..just got back from Wl room 4034 had a good view of the upper fireworks but the lower fireworks around the castle were behind the trees. I think over the years the trees are just getting too tall for a complete view..but it was still awsome to see them from my balcony. Several times I asked my husband to go climb this one tall tree and cut the top off for me :rotfl: he just said" keep wishing".

We were at WL a couple of years ago and had a woods view room with great views of the fireworks from our balcony. However, it was December and maybe the foliage wasn't as big as it would be at other times of the year. It was fun to watch MVMCP fireworks several nights during our stay. I agree - over time as the trees have grown the views become more obscured.

you can see the very top of some of the fireworks from a few of the woods view rooms on the north side.

Honestly, it's not even worth worrying about. You cant see much at all.

I respectfully disagree with this. We we're in room 4016. You can see where it was on the room map link below. Due to some trees being removed/damaged by the hurrincanes we could see the fireworks very well, including many of the lower ones, as well as the castle from our balcony! We were able to video the MNSSHP ones one night!

Hi, when my DH and I Honeymooned at the WL, we stayed in the seventh floor in one of the honeymoon suites, our room faced the MK and we were able to sit out on our fairly private balcony and watch the fireworks everynight :cool1: We couldn't see too much of the actual park because of the trees, except the top of SM and the very tip top of the Castle, but we had a decent view of the Contemporary and the monorail and a GREAT view of the fireworks  We were in room 7085 (I just checked), like I said it was a suite and it wasn't cheap, $250 a night 10 years ago, but worth every penny. Hope this helps :)

If you're planning on making a request upon check-in, broad descriptions of room areas are always better than specific room requests. The best views are on the North Wing, 6th or 7th floors (7th is Concierge), facing North. These rooms have a service area in the foreground, but decent views of the fireworks depending on your placement with the trees. We were on the 7th floor this July, but we were in the South Wing, Inner Courtyard, facing North. We could only see the very tops of the fireworks.
