My family will be traveling to Disney in December and have reservations at the Wilderness Lodge. We have booked the woods view with a request for a view of the water pageant and/or castle from our balcony. We stayed at the Contemporary last year and had a wonderful balcony view of the Epcot fireworks as well as the water pageant. This was a highlight for my then two year old to have a snack before bed as she watched from our balcony. She will turn three on our trip and I really want a great view of the pageant and/or castle eventhough we will be in the park at closing most nights for the fireworks. This is more important to me than a pool view. Is this view possible or is this only possible from a courtyard view? It is very unclear when speaking with the reservations department at Disney. I would appreciate any input as well as room numbers that did have a great view. Thanks!

The main part of the resort is a *u* shape. Inside the *U* are the courtyard views, this is also where the pool is located. We were on the 6th floor courtyard view and had a perfect view of the water pageant, waterfall, pool, geyser and lake. Oh the 6th floor balconies are enclosed though , so you have to stand to see everything. If you don't want that the 5th floor and below have traditional railed balconies, I think the 5th floor would be the best.

I would defintely upgrade to a courtyard room if you want to view the pageant from your balcony. We'd also use to leave our sliding door cracked open at night so we fell asleep to the sound of the waterfall, it was so relaxing. I think it's well worth the money, it's a beautiful view and my kids LOVED seeing the water pageant every night!

Have a GREAT trip!!!

Thank you for the information. This was very helpful. I think I will call and try to get an upgrade to the courtyard view. I see you are going to Disney very soon. Have a great trip.:D

Yes the woods views only have views of the forrest though I suspect you could see a little bit of the water from some of them. They do not seem to differentiate between courtyard and water views so you could upgrade to a courtyard view and then request a direct view of Bay lake at the end of the wing. This would be a long walk from the lobby but a great view of the water. I don't think there is anywhere in the WL that you can see the castle and if there is it would be very, very distant, however you can see the fireworks over the trees and roof from some of the rooms. We had a 6th floor room on the east side of the courtyard and saw the fireworks really well and the electrical pagent from a just okay angle.

We had a woodsview room facing Cinderalla's castle. This view was directly over a water pond where otters and turtles swam. The castle is very far in the distance, and therefore, so are the fireworks. Also, at night, it is PITCH black and you can't see the water or the trees-just blackness. Next time, I would probably request a courtyard because I hear it is beautiful at night. In my opinion, Cinderalla's castle is so far away that it doesn't make for great viewing. Your child might enjoy watching the otters swim and play during the day, though. We were on the 3rd floor.

If I understand what you are asking, I don't know if you can see the parade from a woods view. I know you can see some water but when we watched the parade it didn't light up until it was stopped right in front of the courtyard.

We had a courtyard view-were on the 2nd floor-could see the parade-better if we were on a higher floor-watched it every night-DS 6 and DD 4 couldn't wait to see it

Make sure you don't get a room overlooking the quiet pool/villas if you want to see the parade-talked to people who said they were paying for a courtyard view and couldn't really see the "true" courtyard of the resort

Did you mention to CRO that it's DD"s birthday? I would mention it at check in, too.

It never hurts to ask for an upgrade either if they are not booked.

Does anyone know if the parade stays "lit" while it travels from resort to resort ??????

That's right, if you have a woods view, you would not be able to see the Light parade. I don't think the parade stays lit as it travels. We saw it slowly pull in to the WL water area-we could barely make out the shapes of the floats. It looked like they each had one small light on each float, and then when they got into position, the lights came on.

Personally, this is just my opinion, but we didn't think the water pageant was anything to get excited about. There was only about 5-6 floats-it just didn't do anything for my family.
