We did it! We booked WL for our December 2013 trip. Last time we stayed there, we overlooked the truck area and while the view was very nice, the beeping from the trucks was not very nice in the morning. I would like a quiet room with a nice view. I've heard that the otter pond area might be what I'm looking for. Any advice?

Thanks!

We had a lovely room on the Otter Pond side. It was a woods view room, which we had booked. We could see the castle and the lake.

We'll be there in December, too. And we are hoping to get a room on that side again.

Room 2113 is a bunkbed with courtyard view..we just stayed there. LOVED it because it is on the ground floor (no elevators) and it has a door that goes out across to Roaring Forks and is also close to bus entrance. We booked a Standard but I asked if this room (or close to) was available and POOF! Pixie Dust and it was! We stayed here a few years ago and last month and I loved it!!

That looks like a great location. How was the noise level? Could you hear the pool party music?

nope.. it is on the other side of the falls so it was so quiet..I loved sitting out on the patio!

You'd need a woods view to get away from the service entrance. Or possibly asking for a quiet room if you are booking standard. Maybe they have some other rooms. Usually standard is either over the service entrance or roof view.
We like the Courtyard view of the WL inner courtyard. It's far enough from the pool that its quiet.

We are booked in the woods view this time. Just wondering what the best request would be.

Originally, we had 5093 before we asked to switch..you could ask for "that room area" so they know you want to be on the south side of the resort. It opens to the lobby. There is a nice fire place up there too!

here is a room map

If you are booked with a woods view ask to over look Otter Pond with a higher floor. It will be quiet and you will be able to see the high fireworks from Wishes. Our room was on the third floor right over the pond. It was close to the end of the hall so we were close to the boat dock, not too far from Roaring Forks, but on the opposite side of the resort from the bus stop. The good news is that WL resort is fairly small so walking anywhere is short. We love it there and haven't stayed anywhere else.

I would ask for the north wing woods view near otter pond too. You are close to elevator down to Roaring Forks, pool exit, and near dock.

I stayed in upper courtyard facing the falls and also a height floor. I still feel that it was too loud though. Even with the door shut surfing the day and early evening we could hear all of the pool games which seem like they never end. Next time I would pick Woods view.

Do u guys make requests at time of booking?

Yes. I book by phone, so have my requests noted at that time. I see no benefit to booking on line, because I have to phone anyway to add my requests.

I book online and then call (about a week before) and add my request. They don't look at room assignments until a few days before.
