I loved the Lodge and everything about it. The lobby is amazing, especially decorated for the holidays. I saw several families taking group pictures in front of the tree to use for their holiday cards. I had room 5032, which is a "woods" view, and the view was amazing!!! I had a view of the castle, parts of the lake and the upper floors of the Contemporary. The room also had a great view of the Wishes fireworks right from the balcony. The room has 2 beds, table & chairs, armoir w/tv, double sink, shower & tub, as well as 2 chairs & a small table out on the balcony. It is near the elevators, but I found it very quiet 98% of the time. The pool is heated, although I found the villa pool warmer than the main one. Dined at the Whispering Canyon Cafe for lunch and found the food hot and tasty. Since I was there solo and with a book out, my server was very respectful of my not wanting to participate and did the antics with her other tables. Used my free refill mug at Roaring Forks, but did not dine there. Rented a watermouse one day and it was a blast. The grounds were quiet and very clean. While I was at the pool 4 ducks (one with 3 little babies) & 2 rabbits came right up to my chair looking for food. Found the cast members at the Wilderness Lodge extremely friendly and courteous. The transportation was good. The boat to the Magic Kingdom does not start until 30 minutes prior to park opening and ends 45 minutes after the park closes. The boat to the Contemporary starts at 7am and runs until 10pm. I inquired about the flag family upon my arrival, but it was full.
This is a fantastic resort and am already planning my 2004 stay at the Wilderness Lodge!!!
