Wilderness Lodge Problem

I still cannot believe that the Wilderness Lodge has not yet switched bus stop number one to the TTC again. I really think it is stupid that they now have a bus that goes to the Magic Kingdom especially when you can go on a pleasent boad ride there. I was observing bus stop 1 on my last vist and everytime there was no one waiting to get on that bus nor riding on that bus. They even had a CM from the Wilderness Lodge recording how many people were riding on each particular bus and he told me that "no one is taking the bus to the Magic Kingdom, and he prays that Disney will bring back the bus to the TTC so the guests have more options". I totally agree with him, if we wanted to go to the Polynesian or GF it was so much more convienant, plus I like using that short bus ride to the TTC and then hoping on the Monorail to EPCOT.

Do any of you folks agree with me here? According to the CM I was talking to I was not the only one complaining about this.

Thanks Archie Andrews

I thought I read that the TTC isn't a full hub any more. If that's true, the only reason to go to the TTC would be to get to the monorail resorts. But you can do that just as easily from the MK.

I like the bus option to the Magic Kingdom (especially in busy times). When the boat launch is full, it's really full. When we want to go to the monorail resorts, we just take the boat to the Contemporary and ride the monorail or go to the Magic Kingdom and hop the monorail. We never used the TTC bus.

I'll take the boats over the buses anytime. :Pinkbounc

I will miss the WL bus to TTC. I used it several times during our many stays at the WL. I used it for the monorail to EPCOT and the monorail to the resorts (GF, POLY and CR). We go to WDW during the winter months and the MK closed earlier than at other times. I enjoyed walking around the Poly and GF Resorts in the evening and this was an easy way to get there.

I was usually alone on the bus, so it wasn't used that much.

Seems to me a bus to the MK is a much better option. The only advantage to the TTC is the monorail to EPCOT. Going to the MK is just as convienent in terms of taking a monorail to POLY or GF. And the MK is more convientent because you can get a bus to any other resort (not to mention go the MK if you want).

Yea, bring back the bus to the TTC. I didn't realize it wasn't running anymore on our last stay! We took the monorail to the TTC after illuminations expecting to hop a bus to WL. Thank God, there was a bus willing to drop us off at the Lodge. I hate taking a bus to Epcot! I also like taking the monorail from Epcot to TTC and taking a quick little ride back to our "home".

Bring back the TTC stop!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I definitely prefer the direct-to-MK option. Hopefully they'll keep it just like that.

I think the bus to MK is great. A lot of people were using it during my stay the begining of the month. Like others have said, it is just as easy to go to MK and get on the monorail or other buses as it is to go to the TTC.

Also, to me the big advatage of the WL bus to MK is when going back to MK after 3:00pm. The boat route switches after this time, and the boat to MK from the WL goes to FW first before heading on to MK. This makes the boat ride much longer where as the bus to MK is always direct.

Part of the problem is that many CM's don't know there is a bus to MK. We did lunch there one day and asked several CM's if there was a bus to MK. They told us no. So daughter took the boat. We went out to catch a bus to MGM and here comes the MK bus.

I'm glad there is a bus to the MK. We're staying at WL for the first time in July, and that was a concern of mine. The boats are nice, but the buses seem like they would be quicker.

I'm glad there is a MK bus now too. When it's raining or really hot or cool out, the boat isn't my first choice. If I want to ride a boat I'll just take the one to CR. I think the biggest problem, like safteymom said, is that CMs don't know about it.

I like the idea of a direct bus to the MK. I think the boat takes forever, especially if it has to stop at Fort Wilderness. Plus, it can get COLD on those boats!

The bus becomes convenient when you need to return to WL after a late dinner at one of the monorail resorts – long after the MK has closed. However, I've read that the bus resumes its TTC-WL-Ft Wilderness route at this point anyway.

sotoalf - that is what I have heard as well - once MK closes it goes back to TTC

But we would never take the monorail to the Poly or GF, we would always walk from the TTC because we love to walk, and this was way more enjoyable.

The direct bus route was put in place to make transportation to the MK easier for people with special needs.

After the Magic Kingdom clears for the night, the original route that use to go to TTC does resume.

Love the boat and the direct bus.

I like the bus to MK. One morning last March we took the launch (didn't know there was a bus) and we had to wait before being able to laod onto the 4th launch. People we getting upset because they had ADRs to Cindy's and they were going to be late. Later that day we hopped BW bus to go have lunch at ESPN and saw they had a WL bus. After that we only took the launch in the evening.
The bus takes about 5 mins while the launch takes about 20mins. Please let them keep the bus.

Spinoff question from this one.. We have never stayed at WL before, have ressies at CR for the California Grill. How can we go? TIA
Laura

Consider taking the resort launch (blue flag I think and smaller boat) from WL to CR - it docks at the CR down by the pool

cheers
