Wilderness Lodge Photo Thread- Please feed my addiction!!

uuuuuuhhhhhh!! Looking at all these great pictures of WL makes me want to go back soooo badly! And we JUST left a couple of weeks ago!! DS5 asked me this morning while we were cuddling in my bed why we had to leave Disney and how come we couldn't stay there forever!!?? :confused3

We thouroughly enjoyed WL but think the transporation needs a little work. But overall we were impressed with the granduer of the Lodge, walking out of our room into the main Lobby was an impressive sight every morning and evening! And I am a "people watcher", so sitting out in the rockers watching all that was going on each evening as the kids went to bed was very relaxing! :thumbsup2 I cant wait til we go again in 2011!! So close yet sooo far away!! I will post some pics too once I get a few minutes to upload them to photobucket!

:surfweb: Have a Magical Day!! :wizard:

Oooh - I'd love to see some pix of Artist Point. We're heading to the VWL in June, for the first time, and have dinner ressies at AP for our first night. Would love to hear your opinions when you get back.

Great pictures everybody! I'll be sure to return the favor when my trip is completed in June!

I have some from Artist's Point!

This is room 1018, the first room we were assigned. We only stayed one night, because we really didn't like that it was accessible and the bed was REALLY low to the ground. Not a huge deal, except that my DBF is very tall, and it was just awkward for him. Also, the room looked quite worn. We had booked standard view, and I was told that this was an upgrade from standard to woods. When I requested a change, the front desk staff was wonderful about it and was able to make it happen. The pictures of the new room will be in my next post.

That's too bad. We stayed in 1018 on our Honeymoon in January 2007 and it was lovely then- didn't look worn at all. I wonder if it was a bad year of wear and tear on it.

We actually loved the location most though! It was close to the Roaring Fork and the Pool but we didn't notice any noise. There was no need to take an elevator anywhere, just a walk one way down the call and out the door for the boat dock to the MK, and just a walk the other way and up the ramp to the lobby.

Here are our pics of that room!

Wow!! We are planning our first WDW vaction for next March, and are planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge. These pics are amazing. Thanks for sharing.:flower3:

Thanks for the pictures Kimberly. I've heard nothing but good things about this restaurant. How did you like it?

We loved it!

It was actually a last minute addition to our plans. We were at MGM on the last full day of our honeymoon and we just weren't having that great of a time. The lines were long and it was pretty busy that day. We had planned on staying for Fantasmic that night, but there we were, standing in front of the Great Movie ride at about 2pm and not having fun. It was at that point we realized we didn't want our honeymoon to end like this!

So I hopped on the phone and was able to get a reservation for 5:30pm. We went back to the hotel and changed and went to dinner. The atmosphere was just so relaxing. Our waiter was excellent! He was very attentive and helpful making suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious! We weren't rushed at all- I think we were there until almost 7:30pm, and we didn't even have dessert! It was the perfect end to our honeymoon! We still talk about how it was the perfect way to end the week! I highly recommend it!

Ok - something to bump up this thread.....

Salmon dinner at Artist Point. We own a small restaurant and our specialty is wild alaskan salmon. This was almost as good! All the food was excellent. :thumbsup2

This Thread and all the pics are amazing! We are staying at the WL for the first time in Sept and I am thrilled to be able to look around the resort in pics before going!

Thanks for posting all the wonderful info.

Anyone have any pictures of the Jr. Suite they can post? We are staying in June for the first time and I can't wait to see what the rooms look like. Any other useful info would be much appreciated also. Thank you for your help.

Hi Gang!

I LOVE this thread ... just found it! :thumbsup2
We also love the WL and have stayed once for only one night ... long story ... we are DVC members and usually stay at OKW.
Anyway ... we are staying in the Villas for the week after Christmas specifically for the warm Christmas atmosphere. :cloud9: I saw a sleigh ride mentioned and would LOVE to try that with my family. Can someone offer any details and / or photos?
Thanks for any help!

Page 18 of this post and post number 266 I believe. There is a picture of the horse and carriage along with the driver. However I believe the one from the WL is along a pretty much unlit path and I believe the one at the FW campground might be a little more interesting?:thumbsup2 A lot of the campsites are decorated tremendously for the holidays. I would reccommend that carriage ride over the one from the WL although we have not done either yet.

DisneyNutz ...

Thanks for the guidance and info.! I have to admit ... the thread is a bit daunting and I only made it so far! :goodvibes
But thanks, again ... we're going to have to try one or the other. I'd also love to see the decorations over at the campgrounds. We love it over there and always have to visit the Tri Circle D and the Trails End buffet! :thumbsup2

Just in case no one has pics of this, you can go to allearsnet where there are some pics of the Junior Suite about halfway down the page:

 Hi! We had a Woods View on our recent vist to WL ((which we adored BTW :cloud9: )) I was not super happy with the "wooded" view we were given (more of a parking lot with trees...) so i asked for a new room, but they were booked and we couldnt move til the next day. That night we realized we were able to see Wishes fireworks at the MK from our balcony!! We didntend up moving.... it was more of a hassle than what it was worth ((3 kids, all our stuff and I dont pack lightly! )) and we could see Wishes! Anyway, it was room 4082. I think anything on that side, especialy higher (5082, 6082...), would have a pretty good view of the FW. We could see the CR through the trees all lit-up too. Even though I was not 110% happy with the room, it was a nice suprise to see the fireworks! FYI: that room was loud being that it was 2 floors right over Whispering Canyon... For those of you who haven't experince WC - its really loud - good, but loud! We love it but not to sleep over with small kids! The location was great, however - right near elevators and close to buses, Roaring Forks, the store, restaurants, bar, front desk and all that kind of stuff... Hope you find this helpful!!?? :wizard:
