Wilderness Lodge Photo Thread- Please feed my addiction!!

Great job JoJo 1980!:cool1:I see you were in a one bedroom villa. It looks like you were pretty close to the Atrium area. Our last trip we stayed in a one bedroom overlooking the Atrium. It was the door on the first floor in your seventh photo you posted. Will you all be staying in the villas this trip or the main lodge? We have a two bedroom booked for this December and I would love to be on the atrium again, since it will be our daughter and grandson's first visit. Thanks for sharing.

Love them, thanks for sharing!

You're welcome :yay:

Thanks  We'll be staying in the main lodge this year, I would have loved to have stayed in a villa or studio but there wasnt anything available for our dates :sad1: Upon arrival at check-in if something is available do you think we could upgrade to the villas? (Obviously at cost) Or are they classed as two seperate resorts? Our villa was at the end of a very long hallway, we turned right when you come out of the lifts if that helps at all  I've got a photo of the front door so when I find it i'll let you know the room number :thumbsup2 What dates will you be there this december??

Disney does reserve some rooms in the Villas for booking through them, instead of the Vacation Club, but being the smallest of the deluxes and the resort that goes so well with the Christmas theme, it books up terribly fast. We are going the last few days of Nov. and first few days of Dec.:banana: It used to be a slow time, but not so much anymore. Maybe you will get a room on the lobby if that is where you would like to stay.

DisneyNutz - Like everyone else I love your pictures. :thumbsup2

We're heading back to WDW in Nov/Dec of this year, taking advantage of the discounts on SSR, this is after having stayed at the WL or VWL every year for the last decade.

Seeing your pictures, I only hope we don't pine for the place too much.

At least were in the 'wilderness' so thats the main thing :yay: When I first entered our dates there was nothing at the villas and then in the main resort there was only a concierge room available that we couldnt afford so I was nearly heartbroken thinking that we wouldnt get a room at all. I looked again typing in different dates and 6 nights were available rather than 7 so we grabbed them with both hands :worship: We then decided that is we stayed offsite cheap somewhere we could do 9 nights rather than the 7 originally planned (even though we only had 6 booked  )- so the first 3 nights will be offsite. I'm going to let hubby pick the offsite hotel because he's always wanted to try offsite at least once - hope he gets into research mode soon :surfweb::laughing:

I love your photos so much  Would you mind if I saved a couple on my desktop to show my hubby?? It sounds like we might be there at the same time!! We're at the lodge from 30th Nov to 6th Dec

Great pics, this resort looks amazing at Christmas! We arrive on 5th Jan, will the decorations still be up?:)

Thanks Ranger 1873.:thumbsup2 It may be a little tough due to the holiday decorations at that time of year, but at least it will let you know if you still enjoy the WL as much as you have in the past.:thumbsup2 Wishing you and yours the very best trip.:cool1:

We have stayed at the Buena Vista Suites a few nights to start off a few trips. You pass right by it on your drive in from MCO Airport. It is a nice place to stay with very spacious rooms and you get breakfast each morning for free if you are breakfast eaters. Pull out of the parking lot and it is a straight shot to WDW about 2 and a half miles. If you look into it, try through Dreams Unlimited for your best rates.:thumbsup2 (it's not a package, you can get room only).

Yes you can certainly download some of my photos. :thumbsup2 If you see me at the WL, I will be the big touristy looking guy with ALL the camera gear.:rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

Not to throw a kink into you plans but with free dining wouldn't it be worth it to stay in an a room at the All Stars for the three days, you won't need a rental car as Magical Express will handle everything. Of course this scenario assumes that you'll be spending all 9 days at Disney parks and there really is a big savings on 9 day tickets as they really only increase $3 each day you add on. Just want to be sure you consider all the possibilities. Have a great trip! We'll be tag teaming you at the WLV.

DisneyNutz, I just wanted to let you know that it was your lovely pictures that have gotten me through two major surgeries, to say nothing of the music. My hubby brought the music to be played in my ears as I laid there on morphine drip....You gave me courage and strength to fight and get better. We did get to go this May and I cried when I came through those big doors again, on my scooter, but I got there. I say this to encourage you to put as many of your glorious pictures here as you can. You have no idea what they mean to us.... Hugs...and THANK YOU....

Your kind words touched both DW and myself. We hope you are doing MUCH better and wish you the VERY BEST. We understand your feelings when entering the WL as do all others who have found their niche there. It truly is like coming home where you can escape from everything in the outside world, every time you enter the doors.:yay: Wishing you and yours the very best and a speedy recovery /and return to the WL. :thumbsup2

:cheer2:I'm in a total state of shock!!!! My husband has just said we can go disney in december and stay at the WL!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY

:banana::love::cloud9::woohoo::yay::dance3:

Wishing you both a MAGICAL TRIP:cool1:

I'll have a nosey for that resort - thanks for the tip!! It's strange i'm not normally a breakfast person at home, I normally just have a cup of tea and a biscuit but when i'm in disney I go mad for breakfasts, I love the buffets but my absolute fave is a ham & mushroom omelete with breakfast potatoes from room service

My other half loves your photos too, I've just been showing them to him - so were all excited again now!! Right, got it, if I spot a professional looking camera dude with lots of kit then we know too go over and say 'Boo' ;)

Oh heck, dont give me options  I'm hopeless with decisions and the more options I get the more confused I get :lmao: That does sound like a great idea though, I'll mention it to DH and see what he thinks!! I love the idea as we have never stayed at all stars and would be good to experience it even for a couple of nights :thumbsup2

Wishing you both a MAGICAL TRIP:cool1:

Awww thankyou  I hope you and your family have a wonderful and magical trip too!!

Has anyone ever done one of the sleigh rides at the wilderness lodge? I've just been reading about them and this sounds like such a cute thing to do!!

IMHO we have never done the sleigh ride personally, but we do know if you take the one from the WL it will take you into the dark between the WL and the FW (unlighted woods). The sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness will however take you around their grounds and believe us, There is much more to see there.:thumbsup2 Go for the FW sleigh ride.:cool1:

You have it all wrong.:confused3 If you see a big geeky guy with a bunch of camera equipment trying to pull his grandson out of Silver Creek or off the Christmas Tree, That would be me.:thumbsup2:rotfl2::rotfl: Have a GREAT TRIP:thumbsup2
