I'd try to help more but we haven't done it yet! We're staying at the WL in January and have meals planned at the CR, so we're looking forward to trying it.
For me it depends on the time of year you are going. Summer or a very busy holiday or winter/spring break week, splurge for the WL if you can afford it. If it's a slower period go with the CSR. Both are beautiful and you will have a great time regardless.......if you do book CSR, book a supper at the WCC at the WL. Nice oppurtunity to visit, see the resort and then take the boat over to the MK.
You mentioned the queen beds at CSR. WL also has queen beds. We've stayed at both and prefer WL. At CSR, we were in the rooms furthest from the main building and it was at least a 10 minute walk up there. I agree that having everything under one roof at WL is a big plus. Another plus for WL is that it has less than 800 rooms(not counting DVC next door) and CSR has about 1900 rooms. A lot fewer people will be at WL than CSR.

We were at CSR from New Years Day on for about a week, and didn't really have a problem with too many people and it was a busy time at WDW. We had other issues as you'll see in my previous post, but aside from buses being a little crowded it was ok. One thing I wish I had thought of though is the time of year being dark earlier. (Our previous trips were in August) If we were at the resort in the evening I felt trapped in the room unless I had a family member to accompany me to go get a snack, drink, browse in the gift shop etc. CSR is very vast and dark at night, and even though were fairly close to El Centro, being a woman I wasn't comfortable walking around the resort at night in the dark. For this reason also, I would choose WL where everything is inside and much more convenient.
I haven't stayed at CSR, but I can tell you that we LOVED the WL! It is a gorgeous resort, that is so cozy and relaxing. The resort and grounds are wonderful. We love the pool area and the nice hot tubs. The boat ride to the MK is awesome. So far it is our favorite resort that we have stayed at!
Having stayed at both we would do WL without a doubt. CSR was not for us at all. Too big with a young child who wanted to walk. She was tired before we got to the parks. WL is right by MK and is quiet and a quick boat ride to the surrounding areas.
