I know. I know. They are hardly comparable but HELP ME!!! I need to make a decision!

We are planning NEXT spring's stay and I am caught between Contemporary because I have always wanted to stay there and because of the monorail and the whole "feel" for the place.

Wilderness Lodge mostly because it is a little less expensive and because I hear that the hotel is just gorgeous!

It may be just me and the kids (ages 15 and 9) if DH can't get time off work.

So, I leave it in your hands. I know that the Swan/Dolphin have great discounts for nurses but I really prefer the other two, unless the savings was IMMENSE!!! Thanks!

I say stay where you want and visit the other! They are only a boat ride away from each other. We've never stayed at the Contemporary but have the WL. I liked the WL but I prefer some of the other places we've stayed better. I do want to stay at the Contemporary someday and would choose it for the monorail access if had your choice.

Good luck!

Have stayed at both, and they each have wonderful qualities. Will you have a car? I think the monorail is a plus if you don't have your own car(great access to MK and to TTC). I think you'd find the rooms larger at CR. The WL is the more asthetically pleasing of the the two.

We stayed at CR in a room in one of the wings. I thought it was very nice (did not think I would like it, but we all did). Bigger room than WL, on the monorail, great food court, I heard that theeir game room is very good (but my kids are too young and never checked into it). We actually extended our stay there by another night or 2 and shortened the stay at the Beach Club.

From our room, we could see the lagoon, the pool, and the electric water pagent. It was a lot of fun. Better yet, you can just walk over to MK, the only resort you can do that.

How fast do the Contemporary Tower rooms book up? We are planning a May 2004 trip!

Wilderness Lodge all the way! Even though the rooms are smaller, the atmosphere is wonderful and the pool is better. And it's just a very short boat ride to the CR, where you can pick up the monorail.

Use the $ you save to upgrade to concierge at WL or have a great dinner somewhere!

Have stayed at both and loved both (sorry).....CR has bigger rooms and is busier....WL has an amazing lobby and a better pool

CR has a short walk to MK (10 minutes or so), and of course has the Monorail as well

As noted prior, there is a boat between WL and CR so not hard to go between the two

I think with your party's age go with the CR since it is close to MK, on the monorail, has lots of acitivites in the hotel

Thanks

CR ALL THE WAY!! I love them both but I'm going to have to pick CR over WL. ;)

Last February we split our stay between WL and the Swan. I've never stayed at the Contemporary. We loved both hotels. We loved the decor and theming at WL (and the kids loved the bunk beds). It was very convenient to MK - the boat was quick and fun. Getting Epcot and MGM from WL took a little longer. We loved the location of the SWAN for this reason. There were also a lot more restaurant choices when staying at the SWAN and I believe that Comtempory will have more restaurant choices as well (with the other hotels just a monorail ride away). I would think about which parks/water parks you plan to visit the most and how patient you and your family are with waiting for busses and riding busses to other resorts before you get to your destination. I'm sure Contemporary (with it's closeness to TTC) would be more convenient for that. If you choose WL and plan to spend some time around the resort , I'd highly recommend trying to upgrade to concierge level. The level of service was really nice and we really enjoyed the food offerings and wine. Have a great time!

Have stayed at both and LOVE both too:p ! If you had said Dec. I would say WL, being spring and the ages of the kids, go CR! Will be quick to get back to the pool when you are hot and tired. And BTW, my kids liked the CR pool and slide better! They will love the Fun Center and the refillable mug icees also. Huge rooms and a daybed for one of the kids( bunkbeds at WL). Enjoy!

I've stayed at both - and although WL is beautifully themed, I liked the contemporary better. I found WL transportation to be slow. At the contemporary, you're right at the monorail and a walk to the MK.

My idea is for you to split your stay between the two resorts and find out for yourself which one works better for you and your family. As you can see everyone has a different opinion.

I'm a YC/BC fan - love the Epcot resort area. So that's probably why I liked the contemporary better...convenience. That's what I like on my Disney vacation. I also loved watching the monorail whisk through. It was very nostalgic and special.

When we went to Disney in 2000, it was the first time we resort hopped. We stopped by the Wilderness Lodge and my son (14 at the time) was so impressed that he said we had to stay there next. This was before our stay at the Contemporary. Once we were there, he said he wanted to only stay there from then on (of course we didn't do that, but you do notice the Contemporary on each of our stays).

If you can, I think a split would be great (we love to hop). If not, then if I was in your place, I would choose the Contemporary (I prefer the Garden Wings myself over the Tower, but I'm definately in the minority there). But definately visit the Wilderness Lodge, it is well worth it.

Haven't stayed at WL, so I can only comment about CR- I love this resort! There is nothing like walking to MK. The transportation just can't be beat:D We've stayed in both the North Garden Wing and the Tower. Both are great, but if you can swing it the tower rooms are great:) we'll be staying in the tower again next April:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I booked about a month ago for April '04. Have fun with your planning!

I love the CR from staying there as a child, but we just got back from WL yesterday and I wanted to move in permanently!!! We totally loved WL and it's homey feeling...very inviting. I think if you like a more homey, lodgey (is that a word?) feeling, then pick WL...their lobby is unbelievable and the pool is the best!!!
