Wilderness Lodge or BWV?

We currently have a 1 BR at VWL for March 11-15, 2017. Would like to switch over to BWV and snag a 1 BR Boardwalk view. Both resorts are undergoing construction. Should I keep VWL or try to switch? Also, years ago we had a wonderful room at BWV. An upper floor overlooking the grassy courtyard, with a Boardwalk view. I cannot recall the number and have looked for room numbers to ask for a similar room when I call. Can anyone suggest a great room number for BWV? I know there is no guarantee of a specific room but I would like to put in the request anyway. Thanks!

WL is a major construction area and will continue to be so for quite some time. BWV will likely be done by the time you go. A BWV boardwalk view cannot be beat. Thus, I would likely go for BWV. The 1BRs you are thinking about are in the courtyard/Village green area and are shown here, along with room numbers in yellow http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/BWV_CourtyardPreferred.jpg Be aware that getting a specific room number request is probably the hardest to meet. Also be aware that beginning this year, there was some point shifting at BWV (premiere season in a 2BR had more points added). I made a specifc request to MS to explain how that occurred. What has apparently happened is that some preferred rooms were switched to standard which may have included the second floor unit in that group of 1BRs in the map. The other possibility is that room and possibly another of the four there was switched to pool/garden view, which did not change any points for those specific rooms but took them out of boardwalk view. The issue was a tree in the courtyard that has grown up and blocked views of at least the lowest floor room.

Good call. I think the construction at BWV will be minimal compared to VWL. And glad to hear that you were able to switch over your March reservation. Enjoy the planning!
