I'm the first "no", but I would still stay in one, but if one was offered to me that didn't face the lobby, I think I would take it. One main reason, one minor one. The main reason is the Whispering Canyon. Love the restaurant, but when a bridal party had a late night something or other there, the whooping and hollering lasted well past 10:30, which doesn't sound late, but we had been up since 4 am (arrival day) and we had just come back from MGM and were exhausted.
The minor one was a freak situation, we came back from MK the second night, and found our door ajar. Not wide open, but the bar lock had been set with the door open, and so when mousekeeping left, they forgot and left it open like that. Not cool. I didn't notice if you could see the situation from the lobby, but it made me think about it. Nothing was taken that we could see, but we reported the situation anyway. We explained that we didn't want anyone fired, just that they should be aware in case we noticed missing items later in the trip. The door faced the lobby, and was the first room down a hall, so who knows how many people passed it during the day, and how many chances there were to take something. Anyway, I guess it isn't really good reason not to want a room with such exposure, but I think I would have felt less paranoid after that if my room was down a hall no one could see from anywhere.
That said, the first is my main reason to welcome a non-lobby room, but wouldn't complain too loudly if it was.
