Wilderness Lodge... is it worth it ???

WL is a beautiful resort. The first resort where I just relaxed and took my time wandering the resort. It's quiet and peaceful there. We loved jumping on a boat to MK or CR and then taking the monorail around. We never had to stand on a bus either. It was a one time thing for us but really worth it.

You could always look into trying to buy points from a DVC member and stay in the VWL. Should save you some money.

WL is really nice. Great theme. I loved the pool area and so did the kids. You really feel like you have been swept away to the Pacific NW. It is wonderful. Do plan to spend some time there relaxing. We would always come back in the early afternoon for a swim and relaxation time, then head back out in the evening. We stayed there last July and I am sure we will return.

Is it beautiful at Christmas time? We are staying in a courtyard view bunkbed room Dec 7-13. My son will be 7 and it will be his first trip to Disney and we want to make it fantastic for him!

Yes, it's beautiful at Christmas. We stayed last year Dec 3-7 and the lights were up. The Christmas tree in the center of the lobby is huge and there are little trees and wreaths all over the lobby. They put up garland down the walkways towards the bus stop. The best part was at night when everything was lit up. They had a lighted deer family right above the door as you walk in. When you walk in you have to turn around to see it b/c it's right above the door. None of you will be disappointed.
