I would take the boat and would be at the dock around 5:45 or so.

The boat ride from MK to WL takes about 15 minutes. Boats come about every 15 to 20 minutes. I would plan to be at the boat stop around 5:30 pm. That way, if you just miss the boat, the next one should arrive around 5:45 pm, which would get you to WL a little past 6:00 pm. Then you have to walk to WL (~5 minutes), which only leaves about 10 minutes to spare before you're asked to check in (15 minutes before you ADR time). The WL is a nice resort and there is plenty to look at if you arrive at the WL with time to spare.

We love taking the boat as it's a nice relaxing ride, but the bus is also convenient as it's direct with no stops, so it's a short 5 minute ride. It's not as scenic as the boat, but it's quick. Either way, I agree with the pp's that I would be at the boat dock (or bus stop) by 5:30, just in case you miss it and have to wait for the next one.
