We’ve never stayed at Wilderness Lodge before. If paying cash, would you choose a one bedroom at Bolder Ridge, or a Fireworks View room at Wilderness Lodge?
What if the price was close?
What do you like or dislike about the choices?
Thank you for your feedback!

How long is the trip? How many people/kids in your party?

I can’t speak to the fireworks, but in odd-numbered rooms at BRV (higher floor), you can sometimes get a great view of the Electrical Water Parade on Bay Lake. We always request one of those rooms.

Personally I have never seen the fireworks from a room at WL I have from other resorts. I prefer to watch the fireworks from an open area WL is no exception. With WL you will only see the higher FW but a nice view near the boat dock. A much nicer bathroom, washer dryer, full size kitchen with a nice place to eat at least breakfast or other meals (not for us) wins hands down. Nice to sit an actual chair or couch to watch TV is a bonus. Plus the balcony is much larger and nice to sit out without the possibility of having another family very close.

The one-bedrooms at Boulder Ridge are SO nice! I would pick that over a fireworks view room at WL. I love having the extra space, kitchen, washer/dryer and particularly love the fact that the bedroom does not have an exterior door, so you really don't hear any hallway noise. The only room at WL that I would consider switching for might be a CL level room, if the price were comparable to the one-bedroom. Then I would have to debate space over food/beverages in the lounge!

The fireworks I saw from my pixie dusted upgrade at WL were pretty small. Idk I’d pay extra for it unless I really loved watching fireworks from my room.

Will you take advantage of the extra space & amenities of the 1 bedroom? If not I’d actually probably just downgrade to a studio or normal hotel room and spend the money on nice meals or something.

I love Wilderness Lodge and Boulder Ridge and own there. That said, if you want fireworks, go with BLT TPV, they are practically in the room with you.

Excellent point! We recently stayed at BLT and loved the fireworks!

1 bedroom. All day long. :) I just love the extra space. I agree with previous poster...watch from Geyser Point with a cocktail. :)

I had a partial fireworks view on my recent trip, and it was amazing. I ended up watching the firewalks 4/7 nights with a cocktail on my balcony. That said, if you will be doing afternoon breaks or otherwise spending more time in the resort, I'd go for the 1 bedroom as the extra space will be more important.

Thank you for all the responses!

We checked different date ranges that we could make work & the options we liked were one bedroom at Bolder Ridge or a Fireworks View room at Wilderness Lodge. After switching the dates around, the price difference was very close, under $20 per night, so we booked the one bedroom at Bolder Ridge!

We are planning on being at the resort a lot, even though we have AP’s. We will use the kitchen to make breakfast in the morning & relax on the balcony. Hopefully we will have some kind of view, but either way we are looking forward to trying a different resort!
