We are thinking of staying at the Wilderness Lodge in the fall. I know this resort is not on the Monorail loop, like Cont. G.F. Poly, but what is the transpo to and from the parks like here. Does the monorail drop you off close then you walk to the Lodge? I know you can see it from the rail. Any info on the W.L. transpo is appreciated, Is it anything like stay at the ones actually on the loop.

I love the WL.....once you are there....you are away from the hustle and
bustle....the poly is like grand central station...comparitavely(spellcheck)...

there is NO monorail stop near WL....even though it is close.
Boats to M.K and Contemporary...(to get monorail)
Buses to everywhere else.

I haven't stayed at the poly....one day....but we always go for dinner
and I'm always turned off by the amount of people at the poly...
(ya know people like me coming for dinner:lmao: )

That was one of the factors I used in NOT staying at the Poly. Try going to Tambu lounge for a relaxing drink during dinner time, forget it. ALWAYS mobbed.

WL around Christmas was pretty much the same, at least in the lobby. Territory Lounge was never overly crowded though.

There is no way to walk from the monorail to WL. Down at the WL boat dock there are two boats slips. You can take the little boat on the left to the Contemp. then take the monorail from there to MK or Epcot or you can take the bigger boat on the right straight to MK. The other transportation option to those and the other parks is by bus.

Is the any advantage to taking the boat to CR and then the Monorail? Is that a quicker trip than the boat straight to MK or bus straight to Epcot?

No really, because the boat launch is pretty far from the entrance to the resort then you got to get in and get up to the floor where the monorail station is, I think the 4th (but I am not sure).
Really it is faster just to take the bus right to Epcot because you still have to get off at the TTC and take the Epcot monorail to Epcot. Going to the MK it is faster to take the boat right to the MK, or even the bus.

You want to take the boat directly from WL to MK. If you go to the CR you would have to then walk inside the hotel and take the elevator to the 4th floor for the monorail and then ride around past the TC, Poly and GF before reaching the MK.

For Epcot just take the bus from WL. If you take the boat to CR and then the monorail you would have to get off the monorail at the TC and go down one ramp and up another to get the Epcot monorail. (MK and Epcot are 2 separate monorails)

The boat trip will take you 6 minutes tops. Drops you off right in front of the MK entrance.

No, it's not quicker, but it's more fun than taking a bus. I can take a bus at home. But hopping on a boat and connecting to a monorail...I can't do that at home.

We usually take a bus to epcot....then the monorail/boat to go home....
just to break it up....it is not faster though.

stay at the Wl, you have 2 choices....

Embrace the Busses, or take the boat.

We normally would always boat to the contemporary resort...from there, we'd walk to the MK.

Any other park, we took the bus. bus service is great.
