We are looking to book a last minute trip to WDW in a couple of weeks. We were thinking about Wilderness Lodge and noted that construction was ongoing. Can you tell me how disruptive it is? Is the main pool under construction as well? Thanks,

We stayed there and found the construction not an issue. This was at Christmas though. We thought the resort was amazing. Def worth reading through the thread and making up your own mind.

We stayed at Christmas and Easter. Non issue for us as well. Main pool is open. Resort is definitely quiet and much less crowded.

We were there two weeks ago. We've never stayed at WL before, but absolutely LOVED it, despite the construction. Yes, you could see where they were building the villas, and you could see through balcony windows on one wing to see they were stripped and being worked on, but that's all we noticed. Oh, one set of elevators is not working (probably to that wing). The elevator area was covered up so nicely we didnt know they were there at all. The other elevators were working. The main pool, splash area and geyser were open. I've read that some of the activities are closed now, but we didn't really expect to do any of those.

Our stay was wonderful! It was also nice having about half of the resort guests sharing the bus, boat, food areas, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to go back:)

Response posted here is mine. I copied it from a different thread on the same subject.

"I had reservations at VWL for the first week in April. I made reservation unaware of construction, so when I received letter from Disney notifying me of construction, I decided to change reservation to BLT.

While at WDW in April decided to go to WL to get a idea of where the cabins are being constructed and extent of construction activity. Noise did not appear to be an issue in the restaurant or lobby area and one could navigate around the pool area ok. Construction was along the lake shore to the north and east of the existing buildings and was pretty extensive, meaning lots of heavy equipment and workers, etc. I think it would have been ok, but ok with decision to switch and wait until construction is over and not have any regrets. Work activity can vary substantially and I may have visited on a slow day or there could be more/less noise or commotion during different phases of construction".
