We currently have a trip in early January booked at the Yacht Club CL (lagoon view). We have friends who just returned from the WL CL and their awesome experience has really had us thinking about switching. (Rooms are still available.)

A couple of things - we have stayed at YC CL before and we enjoyed it. We do like the atmosphere of the YC and BC and the ability to walk to HS and Epcot. We visited WL for the first time during our last trip and we really liked the resort. Being from Wisconsin - we don't necessarily need the "feel" of winter :) in January but it was an impressive resort. Some of the things that are interesting us about WL include the recently renovated rooms, the "themed" food offerings, and the "lounge" that apparently is just chairs that overlook the lobby. We are spending time at all of the parks so proximity to any one park isn't super important to us.

Has anyone experienced both of these CL have thoughts? We'd love feedback!

Thanks!

We've never stayed at the YC, but we loved WL CL :goodvibes. One of things I really loved about it is how the lounge is arranged with the chairs around the railing overlooking the lobby. We thought the food offerings were great, the lounge had plenty of seating, and the CMs were top notch. If you're looking for somewhere new to stay, I think WL CL is a great choice :thumbsup2.

WL CL is wonderful! We spent 11 days there in July and we had the most amazing time. The CM's went out of their way on several occassions to make us (and our girls) feel special. The food was really different, and yummy! The new rooms were beautiful and the whole place just really felt like home.

We are staying at YC on our next trip in April, and are still trying to figure out if we want to do CL (so we are having the same question!) :goodvibes

The YC club is bleh. We've stayed club level at the deluxe resorts and it's the only one we would never book again.
The WL is fabulous! The food is in keeping with the theme such as venison chili or a salmon dish.

I've never stayed CL at either resort, but I will say that architecturally the WL is amazing. It is one of my home DVC resorts.

If you decide to stay there take the lodge tour. It's offered most days by the ranger. Check for times when you check in. It used to be at 9am. I took this several years ago and since I was the only one on the tour I got to see the roof. AMAZING view. SOOOOOOOO cool!

good luck with your decision.

WL CL is one of my favorites ... I also enjoyed YC but would pick WL over it anytime. The seating area, IMO, is far superior with an amazing views of the WL lobby and the pool area. The YC's view is basically non existant ... just windows covered with sheer curtains which you cant really look out of.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! One other question. Can someone explain WL CL balconies? I don't mind the enclosed railings. I'm curious if there's a barrier between balconies. Some pictures I've seen of WL balconies make it look like they are open. Thanks!

You get your own balcony. But it is enclosed, so you have to stand to look out. :goodvibes

We stayed WL CL for Thanksgiving and it was amazing! Did not want to leave!!! We came back and I booked a return trip in February for my birthday!!!

What about BC club? We're thinking of split stay CL between the two WL and BC...mainly because we have two young kids who would love the pool at BC (have stayed at WL several times)...I am not excited about the closed in balcony as we will have a 3yo who won't be able to see out. Then again, it isn't like a 3yo is going to want to hang out on the balcony and enjoy the view ; )

...also wanted the closeness to Epcot, as we have never stayed at an Epcot resort (BLT, WL, AKL, AKL-Kidani).

Thanks everyone! We decided to try something new and switched to WL today! We're very excited to try something new! Anything we should know about CL at WL is very much appreciated. Thanks again!

We've stayed CL at both the YC and WL. DH liked WL better, because he felt like the set up encouraged the CMs to leave him alone. He felt like the YC staff was a bit "hover prone." I am the opposite, I liked the YC staff better, and found the entire experience to be more "upscale" and warmer at the YC. I don't think you can go wrong in any event. Have fun!
