I know it is variable, but has anyone heard about this year's decorations. I figure things might be different since we are in the Covid Era. I will be there week before Thanksgiving and wondering if we will catch the tree.
Thanks!!!

I didn't know they changed every year. We went resort hopping Dec. 2019 just for decoration viewing. I got pictures of a bunch but Wilderness Lodge was by far our favorite!

On 9/8 Disney announced: "Disney Resort hotels will also be decked out for the holidays, with their lobbies featuring iconic trees and other festive flourishes. One thing to keep in mind is that our gingerbread displays will not return to the Resort hotels this year. While we know they are a favorite of people taking in the holiday décor, we’re not able to include those displays due to physical distancing guidelines."

The visual along with the post was the WL Christmas Tree. What we should expect in terms of resort decoration timing - whether like past years or something different, is up for debate I guess.

Here's the Disney Parks Blog post:

FYI, the resort decorations don't change every year - I think PP just meant with COVID and the various WDW unknowns that entails for this particular holiday season.

Also, the d ate each resort gets theirs up changes annually. There is a rotation/draft draw for which resort gets put up when.

Since the resort holiday decoration schedule is assigned by a lottery every year the timing for each resort varies but this year with fewer resorts open you might just get lucky.

It really depends on where the WL hits in the Christmas decoration lottery. Fingers crossed that you get lucky the week before Thanksgiving this year.

Thanks, everyone! I though maybe someone had some secret inside info.
😉

They always have a tree in the BRV lobby at WL, so that might be the tree for the resort this year. Who knows?

Anytime I have stayed at the Lodge for the holiday season, the tree was not put up until a couple days before Thanksgiving.

Yep a couple days before thanksgiving. In 2018 it was actually the Monday before thanksgiving I believe.

It went up the night of 11/17 last year. I know cause we were there on 11/16 for my birthday and left on the 17th and I was like darn I just missed it when I heard the news it had gone up

Nvm this is wrong, went into my camera roll, it was the Monday before Thanksgiving. November 19. I took a pic as soon as it was up that morning.

We leave the 20th and I’m really going to be disappointed if the tree and decorations aren’t up. I have never seen WL decorated for Christmas.
