Wilderness lodge and Cindy's breakfast

We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge in Sept. On a Thursday morning we have our PS for Cindy's at 8:05 . What I need to know is what time whould we take the boat to MK from WL? I know that it is an early entry day so by the time we get there and go through the gates I'm just trying to plan how early to be there so we are not late. Thanks so much for any input. Joan

If you allow 45 minutes to catch the boat, get through security and walk to the castle you should be fine.

We're going to CRT on 10/17 at 8:15 and when I asked about transportation from the WL, the CM told me that I would need to take a special bus for character breakfasts - to mention it when I checked in and they would tell me the bus info. - that maybe the boats aren't running that early!?! Anyone know?

I don't know if they still do this, but last fall they had a "Character Breakfast Bus" that came around the resorts and dropped people off at different character b'fast locations, like MK, BC, GF, etc. When we stayed at WL, the front desk told us the bus started earlier than the others and they told us what to look for on the bus marquee/display (something like Char Bfast).

I would definitely ask when you check-in and ask for their bus schedule. They should have a printed one available that explains the schedule for each park (both to and from) so you can plan accordingly.

We were late last year for our Cindy's breakfast because of misinformation from the CM's at Wilderness Lodge. The boat to MK does not run that early in the morning. We were told it did and went out to wait for it. What happened is we ended up jumping the boat that goes to the Contemporary and we ran from the Contemporary to the MK to make our PS's. You have several options-You can take the boat to the Contemporary hotel and walk or take the monorail from there, you can take a bus to the TTC and go to the MK from there, or if they have the character buses you can take that. If we had known in advance about the boat situation, we would have taken the boat to the Contemporary to begin with. As it was, we waited on the dock and watched several Contemporary boats come and go. Hope this helps.

wow, we have a PS around 8:30, and we were going to take the FW boat--I guess this is the same boat, and that they don't run "early"? It's on a EE day....

Here is a simple way to remember when the WL and FW boats start running. They generally start running 30 minutes prior to opening. If MK is opening at 9:00, the first boat usually departs around 8:30, but no later than that. If MK is opening at 8:00, the first boat usually departs around 7:30, again no later than that. If you are really trying to make an 8:05AM PS at Cindy's, I'd take the bus to the TTC and then transfer to the monorail. The first boat to the CR starts at 7:30 I believe, the same time the first boat leave for the MK. If you want to take the boat, be at the dock no later than 7:15, and take the first boat to arrive. I wouldn't want to chance being late, and I know the first bus leave the WL for the TTC at 7AM. I'd be at the bus stop no later than 7:!5, and take the bus to the TTC and then the resort monorail around. You should have plenty of time, the bus to the TTC runs every 10 minutes. They also have discontuned the special "Character Breakfast Buses" and now just run busses to the parks a little earlier. But the WL guests that doesn't help trying to get to an early MK breakfast, since you have to transfer at the TTC. That's what we were told to do by guest services when we stayed there in Feb.

The first boat to the CR starts at 7:30 I believe, the same time the first boat leave for the MK.

That was definitely not true this June. We were going to MK for an 8 AM EE. We arrived at the WL boat dock around 7:00. We know the MK boat goes from FW and then to WL in the mornings. This often results in the MK boats being full, or near full, with guests from FW before they even reach WL. There were two families waiting at the dock when we got there, and lot more arrived shortly after we arrived. Around 7:10 a small launch boat arrived at the WL dock. It was a boat bound for CR and the pilot said the boat for MK would be at WL around 7:30. Fearing that the first boat from FW might be full, we decided we had a "bird in the hand" and opted for the CR boat. We and one other small group were the only ones out of the crowd that did. We went to the CR and then hopped the monorail to MK. We could have walked, but we decided it would be more fun to take the mono. We arrived at the MK gates at 7:50.

So my advice would be to either take the bus to the TTC and ride the monorail, or take the launch boat to CR and walk or ride the mono from there.
