Are these hard to book? I've been trying to book one since March, but they are full... is this the norm or maybe my week is just busy?... going early december. Right now we have 2 rooms booked at the resort

Yes, VWL is one of the MOST popular resorts for Christmas decor. Hard to get a 2 BR because members book them all.

Cash guests only have access to a very small percentage of the room inventory at any DVC resort; members own the bulk of the inventory. And VWL is among the smallest of the villa resorts. That adds up to a small chance of booking a cash reservation, unfortunately.

Here are the number of rooms at wilderness lodge villas, according to DVC News:

Rooms: 136 (max 181)
Dedicated Studio: 20
Dedicated One Bedroom: 27
Dedicated Two Bedroom: 44
Lockoff Two Bedroom(Each can be booked separately as One Bedroom + Studio): 45
Three Bedroom Grand Villa: 0

That doesn't tell you how many could be booked through Central Reservations Office, but it gives you an idea of how many there are total.
