Wilderness Explorer Badges at Animal Kingdom?

My twin 7 year olds and 10 year old liked it at first, did the ones in Africa I believe it was but then were way too interested in all the rides and FP+ to continue. It was cute though, and if we had more "leisure" time and it wasn't a blazingly hot day I could see them doing more of it.

Heh, I did this with a party of adults only and we had a blast! The cast members didn't even blink an eye at the age of our Wilderness Explorers.

It took us two days to finish it, but we did it at a leisurely pace and stopped to enjoy the park, animals, and rides as we went (this was in the off season, might be harder to complete during busier times due to crowds). The booklet also makes a cheap, great souvenir, it looks just like a Wilderness Explorer guide. The cast members were also great...we noticed over the two days that the same cast members would get assigned to different stations throughout the week, so by the second day we had staff recognizing our group from the first day!

If I had children though, I'd probably wait until they were grade school, otherwise they would probably be too young to be interested in the activities.

I had a great time with them as a 20-year-old, but I was also working at the park at the time, worked with the badges in some locations, and knew most of the Explorers, so your mileage may vary. The badges are a blast! Have fun!

Did I read correctly that it doesn't start until 10AM? Would've loved to start doing it with my little ones while the bigger two did EE & Dino at rope drop. If we walk Maharaja Trail instead will we just have to walk it again to earn one of the badges? Can't wait to try it this trip!

My DD's (11 & 9) loved doing this (they love animals and Up is one of their fav movies).

They loved finding the areas for the badges, but the CM's really make this activity worthwhile - I learned newthings from each of them at every station.

They got about half the badges and we were there that day from 9:30-3. We are planning to get the rest on out next trip in the spring.

Also there is a great Russell and Dug meet and greet. Got some great photos!
