Wilderness Campground

Just wondering if anyone has camped at Wilderness Campground. We'll be heading down Mar 04 for two weeks and we really enjoy camping. Just wondering if anyone had some tips or ideas for us. I had thought we'd stay in a disney hotel for a few days and then go to a condo but the kids seem excited to just stay and relax for the duration. They are 18 and 14. It will certainly save us $$$ to be used for other things. Any input?

This is my wifes absolute favourite place to stay. She says the campground is so relaxing and peacefull and there is so much to do around the area. There is bike rentals canoe and peddle boat rentals walking trails you will really like the campfire and movie s at night. Get some smored and toast the marshmallows over teh fire while watching the movie.

There's lots to do at FW, no matter the age! Our kids are younger, but we wouldn't stay anywhere else! We love to be able to come back and have room to relax and still have our "stuff". While I love to get a break from cooking, 2 weeks of restaurant food is too much for me. We save money by eating every breakfast in the camper except Cinderella's breakfast morning. We are able to bring some water (frozen bottles) and snacks. Typically we plan on eating one meal a day out, depending on what's on the agenda. Often we will come back, have dinner, then either relax by the campfire and watch the movie, or head back for the fireworks. We also love FW!

We camped at FW a few years back in (gasp!) August, and still enjoyed it. The comfort stations are amazing (air conditioned bathrooms with showers, etc.). They'll give you a calendar when you check in of activities each day/night - movie night every night after campfire with Chip and Dale, lots of fun (like going to a drive-in without a car!). They have a wonderful general store, petting farm for the kids (free!), horseback riding, nice pool area, hayrides, and more, and you can take a boat ride directly to Magic Kingdom. Nice beach area as well. And don't miss a visit to the Wilderness Lodge nearby - great eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe and entertaining for whole family!
