Has anyone done this recently? I was listening to an older podcast and they were saying it takes you to some back parts of the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge? Or does it just go thru some woods and that’s it?

We did it in January, and it was feeezing. A lot of the time is spent learning how to use the Segway. We’ve done several Segway tours, so this was a little annoying to us but can understand that others were newbies. They also throttle them so that you go pretty slowly then yell at you to keep up. You stop at the stables as well for about 10-15 minutes. Our guide had some interesting stories and fun facts, but a lot of his “okay, who can guess” items were things DS and I already knew (but, then, most people don’t frequent Disney boards like this!). I’m glad we did it, and it’s a good thing to do if you’re a frequent visitor and looking for new things to try, but I wouldn’t do it again.

Some of us “oldies” remember the Wilderness Swamp Trail. WAY before Segways you could walk very deeply into that area. After crossing the waterway you would eventually encounter a raised wooden walkway through the mysterious and slightly scary swamp. It was beautiful and quiet way back in there. It did cross my mind about snakes and maybe breaking some trespass rule, but loved it three years in a row.
