Wilderness again, Rental this time?

That looks absolutely perfect for you. I am sure you have read about them but the comfort stations are so nice and clean. They make getting ready in the morning super easy when you have a large crowd. Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at the Cabins last year, so we know the buses, and most of the resort area. I think the one thing I am going to spend some time on is figuring out if we need a Golf Cart or not. We did not get one last time we were there, but if I can get the 400 or 700 loop and fly, I might get the Golf cart for my mother and kids, so that my wife and I can walk to the Marina, but they can drive the golf cart. My mother is over 70, so while she is a trooper, she needs breaks if we walk long distances.

Also, some of the buses got overfilled during the hoop dee do review. So I think I will need to know the times of those shows so we don't end up on those overfilled buses again. :)

But tons of time to plan, so lots of fun doing that! :)

We never do a cart but we are young and my kids don't mind the buses plus I'll admit it, I'm cheap and when our kids were younger it would have meant squeezing 7 onto a cart for 6 or getting two carts. Not having a golf cart for us means more fun stuff. But if you can swing it I would go for the cart.

Yeah, if it wasn't for my mother it would not even be a consideration. But I had someone quote me 35/day from an external supplier. So at that rate, it might be worth it to keep my mother spry.

That's a good rate. And yes at your mom's age she deserves a little bit of relaxation.

I'm cheap
We are not "CHEAP" we are "FRUGAL"

Cheap denotes quality (in my book) Frugal is being thrifty and smart with your money and identifying the need and value for the money you are going to spend. For RMColosimo and dealing with his mother, it's probably a better value to get a cart (especially at $35/day). Cheap would be to rent third rate cart that is on it's last legs and keeps breaking down for $25/day simply because it's less expensive.

Just my opinion of course. But then again, I am cheap too. Errrr..... Frugal! :)

oh yes, that's right, we are frugal, very very frugal. :) It's the only way to pay for my Disney addiction.

Hey, I resent that implication! I'm 69, Dh 70, and we still bike, hike, garden and generally run circles around our 40+ age children!! :D

No offense, just couldn't resist!! I 'do' realize health in 'any' age is a gift and things can happen at 'any' time to limit us at 'any' age. :goodvibes

Well I try to be frugal. I have even spent some time on the Budget Board her on the Disboards but those folks can get crazy nuts! Even down right vicious. (If you need confirmation of that you can certainly read through the threads about Target Gift cards to get Disney Gift/entertainment cards)

I wish I could find more ways to save. Right now a good source for me is the Disney GC's from Sams Club which is just under 5% discount.

Fortunately I can get Disney Tickets at a substantial discount over the Disney Website and even over Undercover Tourist or AAA. For example, my 3 tickets for 4 days from Disney will cost $1038.39 but from my employer will be $913.77 savings of $124.62.

Under Cover tourist 4 day pass for 3 of us is $968.85 which is a savings of $69.54 but in all fairness it's a 4 day Plus 1 so it's actually 5 days. The problem is, is that they don't have a 3 Day Plus 1 to use as comparison. So if I needed 5 days, this would be a better deal, but I really only need 4 days. (Sometimes the "Frugal" stuff gives me a headache!)

I am frugal but I balance it to maintain my sanity, I figure my time and energy is worth money too. Some of the ideas there are a little too complicated for me. Although I do pay for my trips with gift cards and either use my red card or buy from BJs occasionally, I mostly get my gift cards from the grocery store because I get gas discounts. So I wait until I get $.20 a gallon (30 gallon max) and the savings ends up being about 12%. I would do undercover tourist but I like paying for everything with gift cards. I just try and save money for Disney by saving elsewhere, like we rarely go out to eat and I don't usually buy anything unless it's on sale or generic but seriously I don't have time to go super crazy and yes that board can border on crazy at times ;)

Hahahaha! My dad turned 70 this year, he is the same as you, he is still very active and easily stays up with his teenage grandkids. ;)

My dad is 76 and while he doesn't ride bicycle, he does ride his motorcycle a lot. Plus he runs as an "Aide" and driver on the local (and very busy) volunteer ambulance company. He walks everywhere local (within about 1 mile). So if he needs to go to the bank, he will walk (unless weather is bad). I hope I am half as motivated and fit as he is when (and if) I make it to that age.

North of Mouse, you are absolutely right when the say health at any age is a gift. I know folks in their 40s that struggle with walking down the block too.

Heck, if I suggested to my mother that we were getting a golf cart for her, she would kick my butt. But for the same reason that she lives with us, I will spend the extra money on her.

Also, my wife just schedule a 2016 trip in August since we got a pin code in the mail. We are now going to AoA Lion King Suite for 7 days in August. Only 6 of us then, as my mother is going on vacation with my sister to maine, so she can not make it. But my wife's friend still wants to come with us.

So in a little over 2 weeks from no trips to 2 trips. Having my wife work full time has been nice for our budget. :)

Ohhh! I'm so interested in this thread! I'm subscribing!

Well I hope I live up to it. I will get everything on our trip for Aug set-up here as well. I might do a Trip report, since I think this might actually be fun for some people to read. :)
