Hey Everyone! 3 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!!!

CONGRATS ON THE DL JOSH!!!! :cool1:

SARAH - I can tell you from experience that the Rasul at the Spa was really great for 1 on 1 time (wink, wink). Me and DH also had just a regular couples massage and that was nice too. Both of them combined I think would be cheaper than the Spa room. Just a thought if you want different ideas.

What I'm looking forward too....hearing our family's name welcomed on to the ship (we LOVE that part)....pulling up to the port and seeing the ship.....the sail away party...meeting all of you guys (all though I'll admit to being a bit scared :scared1: ;) .....warm, sunny weather..... alone time with DH....fun family time together without outside interruptions (phone, tv, homework, work)....I really can't wait for all of it!!!!

We are finally going to get our garage sale over with tomorrow so DH and I have a long night ahead of us. However, the money we are going to make won't be going on the cruise with us :sad1: DH got slammed by a buck the other night and his car is not doing so well. It's considered "undriveable" right now so we had to get a rental and we will have to pay out the deductible on the insurance to get it fixed. However, DH is VERY lucky. It rammed right into his driver side door and did some serious damage. We are very happy that he didn't get hurt. So needless to say...we could really use the Disney Magic right now....

I hope everyone has a great night.

Take care-
Kelly

Good Evening Nana Heads!!!

Went to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Detroit for lunch today. Great way to start the weekend. Dave should be back anytime from the MSU game. State lost to Purdue.

Funny today's discussion is about activitites on board. Dave brought up this subject yesterday. I "study" the Navigators the night before and highlight activities I/he/we want to do. I carry a Naviagator in my bag that I carry around the ship. Dave mentioned that we have never been to the napkin, martini, beer, taquila sessions. I go to Bingo at least once each cruise; we've done the bridge tour, galley tour, Walt Disney Theater backstage tour, Disney discussions, such as makings of Disneyland, WDW; DVC meet. I like to browse in the shops -- there are usually items on sale, but you have to look for them. I've gone to a few character meet and greets. Deck 4 is my favorite place to read and drink a beverage in the afternoons. You'll find Dave at the adult pool a lot. He does get out of the pool just before the adult games start, though. He got caught one year and made a fun fool out of himself. We've been known to hang out in the coffee shop talking with other cruisers. We tried the rainforest last year for the first time. Loved those heated chairs.

Have a great evening everyone!

OK - I have read this about 3 times and have to ask....did you mean Buick? Or did some dumb deer actually smash into the side of his car?? Was he actually driving and this thing came out of nowhere? I just don't picture New Jersey as a deer-infested wilderness?? :confused3

Canadian Beefcake has just taken mini-beefburger out to see 'Flushed Away'. We took a look at the trailers online and it looks pretty cute. Apparently from the same folks as 'Shrek'. So, I have a few hours to myself :cloud9:

Lynn - I have to say you are a power-shopper my friend. I think you have been out shopping in every post! LOL Hey, it's all for a good cause!

Kathy - 5 bathrooms!!!!!! :scared1: I feel for you on cleaning day! Does Minnie get one to herself then? ;)

Shell - where's Mr Mutt?? Or is he going to counselling because of your online hussy ways?? You banana-tart you!! :teeth:

Hope everyone has a nice weekend - talk to you soon :grouphug:

Hi Sarah,
Due to the fact that you wrote back first, and you ride, I am writing back to you first. Yes .. we do not have a helmet law in Illinois, but I do have one and wear it when needed. Have a great evening! Wally

Sarah,
actually it is only 4 1/2 baths, and I DO NOT clean them all. :confused3

Let me rephrase that, we use our bathroom in the master bedroom, which I clean. DS has his own bathroom which he has to clean.
The 1/2 bath is downstairs and guest use it, so I clean it. Now all the rest are for guests in the extra bedrooms and NOBODY is allowed to use them unless it is company that is staying with us.
That way I only have to dust every 2 or 3 weeks and flush a couple of times a week to keep the water from making a ring.
There is NO WAY I would be cleaning all those bathrooms all the time :sad2:

well it is late here and almost my bedtime, so I will say good night and I will check back in the morning. :goodvibes

Kathy

Hi All,
Sorry for being among the missing all day - Went out to lunch with the female half of our Disney 'newbies' couple. I wish i'd had a camera when she realized she was going to Cirque de Soleil! and even MORE so when I told her it was "free, included with the package". (70 years old, Polish, VERY close with a buck. I've been making the plans in collaboration with the husband, my former boss.)

Wow! Too bad about the close encounter with the buck! I got an 8 pointer like that once - right front shoulder.

I had hoped that by the chance we got to 10K of those miserable yellow fruits the rest of you would be sick of them too and we wouldn't see them anymore!

Oh, Tonya - I hope the hairy godmother bought something for HERSELF and not Miss Dimples. SHE had a little meltdown in the bear store this afternoon. There was this wonderful red and black satin dress with red and black ear bows. Would have been perfect for the cruise . . . except it was for a DOG! We were looking at the 'back' of it. Poor Dimples sobbed and whimpered for an hour.

I'll try and point Bruce over here tomorrow. He's not very 'chatty'. (and is THAT ever an understatement!)

Good night, All!

I think i'm done

Sarah - LOL :rotfl: No it wasn't a buick...it was in fact a buck that was dumb enough to ram the side of his car. Actually, NJ is LOADED with deer and where we are in Central Jersey we definitely have our fair share. They are in our back yard all the time...and where we live is actually wilderness, although we live on an acre of property.

GO NAVY!
There must be something to doing what you love...my dad loved flying and going to work was fun for him...but, he was also VERY frugal...so maybe cruises were just too expensive for him! We may have traveled...but it was free airfare....cheap hotels and pb&j/donuts in the room for meals.

Hi Nana Heads:

I just got back from having 2 margaritas with dinner. Whooo, I feel great!!!!

Dave is not an online type person, but he is a talker. So you will all find out in 3 weeks.

For those going on Sunny Liston's tour, I got an email from him tonight. Did you? Unfortuniately, we are tendering at St. Thomas but he'll be there when we get off the tender and has room for us to lock up stuff, like snorkeling stuff, etc. This is the first time in our 7 cruises that we are tendering.

Have a great Sunday. We are heading to Detroit for our granddaughter's 4th birthday party.

Lynn, I don't think we've set any sort of time for dinner / get-together. If I remember right, Jeff & family arrive in the early evening. We arrive mid-afternoon and then will spend the afternoon glued to the TV for a football game. I'm thinking sometime after 6:00. . . If we can't all hook up for dinner, we can definitely get together for drinks/snacks, etc. I guess we better start figuring this out! A lot will also be dependent on the kids and how the travel day has gone up to that point.
Cheri

Yep we get in late afternoon so drinks/snacks will work better in our world than dinner...AND I also reserve the right to do a quick driveby since wife and both DDs may be off on their own if the kids are cranky. So we shall see. But we are up for it hopefully.

Just wrapping up my visit to beautiful West coast of FLA and i refuse to talk about the football game i came to see. My team stinks this year - so I'm ready now for basketball season where the Panthers are ranked #5 preseason.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good Morning Turkeys & Nana Heads!

Just stopping by to say "Hi" before I stop obsessing over the DIS boards and move on to obsessing about packing & trip preparation. :rotfl:

After this afternoon's carnival, we don't have any plans for the weekend -- unless you call cooking :stir:, cleaning, laundry :laundy: , packing, eating popcorn:: , drinking :drinking1 , and watching TV :happytv: "plans."

OK -- now that we've talked about what we're most looking forward to on board, I'll throw this discussion topic out there: (Talk amongst yourselves!):
What are some of the actual on-board activities you plan to do?

In addition to the usual eating, drinking and relaxing & reading, I hope to get to the gym almost everyday (never made it there on our 3-day), spend time in the Rainforest, check out the wine and/or martini tasting, and possibly go to one of the entertainment classes -- desserts, napkin-folding, etc. Then again, I may never want to move from my lounge chair. :rotfl2:

Sounds like your evening may have been similiar to ours....cozy fire, a couple beers and curled up watching tv...
As for the cruise....I don't know what I want to do yet, everything sounds GREAT....time will tell. I am taking everyones advice about not having great expectations to do it all...but willing to try everything

I agree Cheri...about the Radisson AND the cruise...we have to see how the kids are doing. But, we'll be there on Thursday night!
Off to bed....gotta work tomorrow.

Dad never got to do a cruise because of the cost. Our vacations sound very similar though. Getting the hotel went like this:

Dad: Lay down in the back seat!
Me: Why:
Dad: So they won't charge us for you!

Those were the days! :rotfl2:

Oh, Kathy! HOW I WISH I WAS THERE! It's another cold morning here in upstate New York!

Woogal, my list of favorites goes just like yours. I'm 'blissed out' just by getting to the port, and the first day is rich with the knowledge that there are many more to follow. But the next 7 days goes by in an eyewink, each one sadder than the last because it's closer to the day we must departYes, we got that note from Sonny Listen too. I'm not very fond of tendering, being somewhat unstable on my feet. But, I managed it in Grand Cayman in '04, and I will manage it this year too. I'm still dithering over whether to book an excursion in St. Martin. I wish we were doing Sonny's first - then I'd know how I liked it.

One of my docs goes every year two weeks to a resort on Orient Beach. He says one day won't be sufficient. Perhaps not, but it's all I've got, so I want to make the most of it!

Guess it's time to get up and at 'em. I got a line on some gaucho pants on sale so need to get my work done and get out to the other mall. Might hit the Christmas tree shop too, Lynn. YOU are so right - the best part is - it's affordable!

Happy Day, All.

Good Morning All    ,
Today is a nice sunny day but cold here in NY. I am not doing nothing expect packing my suitcase and packing away DS clothes that don't fit. Oh, DS was all smiles :) :) :) for Santa Claus and took a great picture. Have to make Pancake for breakfast. Talk to you later!!!

DH and I did the Martini and Tequila tasting last year. Be warned, the Martini tasting is OK. I repeat OK. The martini's are small (lush husband) and there is only one true martini. 4 of them are faux-tini's and one looked like pepto in a glass. (I didn't try that one) The tequila tasting is good, but they start you out with WELL tequila and by the time you get the Patron, your taste buds are dead. The strawberry marg. was great. But once again you get a small glass. I know that you all want to try it but I wanted to let you know what you had in store. I'm not complaining, I had a great time, they give the history of the drinks etc, and after the tequila tasting I in was need of bread products (was tanked, cheap date). DH will be trying the Beer tasting this time, but I will spend my time on deck waiting for a server to come and serve me.

Hi Tonya,

Let me know if I have this straight:

For the martini tasting, you get about 4 or 5 mini samples of martinis -- one is a vodka martini, one is gin, and the others are "flavored"(?). I should hope they're all small!!!!

For the tequila / margarita, you get a few shots of various tequilas followed by a small margarita at the end.

I know nothing about the wine tasting, but I'll assume they have a couple reds & whites.

Then at each "class" they probably give a bit of info about the various drinks. :teacher: I've read varying reviews about each, and I was under the impression that you're getting small samples instead of actual full-sized drinks.

How close am I??

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Cheri
