Ok, so now I'm totally confused. We got up at 2:30 a.m., yes a.m., to make these res. for our fun picks and for brunch on Sunday at Palos and guess what...nothing! They didn't have any openings at Palos for brunch. I'm very :sad2: How do you get what you want? Is it because we are first timers with DCL? They didn't have anything at 3 a.m. then my dh checked again at 6:30 and they had two dinner dates open. What is up with that? Does that mean people cancelled? I'm not too sure I like DCL anymore :worried:
Stephen is going to check with the travel agent today and find out how we can go about trying to get what we wanted. He went ahead and booked dinner for both he and Esther. We didn't want Stacey to miss pirates night so we aren't sure about dinner. Am I missing something about this cruise thing? You see, you really can't teach an old dog new tricks!
I'm not too happy today anyway. Our big red car is giving us a fit. The wipers think they are suppose to run all the time and when the front wipers turn off (by themselves) the back one comes on (by itself). The lights on the inside of the car blink and the engine doesn't know if it should turn over or shut off. We had an awful rain storm last night and the control panels under the hood got wet. Why you say, because the guy who changed my oil forgot to but the top back on the electrical control panel when he reset them so the check oil light would go off! We went out last night to celebrate our big 35 year ann. and got caught in the storm that flooded our roads. On our way home it stopped raining and Steve and Pat were driving down the road with the wipers saying "dumb guy" all the way home. Ever turn on your wipers when the windshield is dry and the bugs hit it? I never knew wipers moved that fast.
Well, have a good day all. As I remember what day this is I guess a little brunch and wipers gone mad isn't really anything compared to what life deals others around us.
Pat

Pat, don't fret the Palo ressies. Almost 50% of the available tables are held back for shipboard reservations. Just plan on being at the appropriate place as soon as they open on 11/25 and you should be able to get all the reservations you want. :thumbsup2

Good day, all!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. It was rainy & cool all weekend long in IL. :furious:

I didn't make a list, but did everyone's college team win on Sat.? The Ohio State/Texas game ended up being a blow-out. :confused3

I didn't even pay attention to NFL -- though I watched a bit of the Bears/Packers game. It's always a big deal here because we live on the IL/WI stateline. Sorry DutchsMom -- your Packers didn't look so hot. At least Ahman Green (former Husker) seems to be healthy. :thumbsup2

Carrie -- I know exactly how you feel. Our beagle, Benny, had to be put down about 3 years ago after a battle with cancer. She was diagnosed in August (they originally thought she'd be around for 2-3 months tops) and made it until May the following spring. It was so emotionally difficult. I sure do miss her! We still have our 2 cats (plus a new one who just showed up on our doorstep), so that's enough for now. So glad to hear about your husband's new job! :yay: :yay:

Woo-- I was watching a bit of Fast Times on Saturday, too! :happytv:

Hope everyone has a good day. We're one day closer to Wild Turkey/Nana Day!

Cheri

P.S. I'm sure we all remember where we were five years ago. My dad, brother & sister-in-law all worked for United, so it was a bit tense until we knew each was accounted for. Dad & SIL were off that day and DB was in Philadelphia. Our family was very lucky. Thoughts & prayers to all families affected in one way or another.

Good Afternoon Nana Heads,
Today is just a sad day here in NY. Everytime 9-11 comes I remeber where I was when I found out about the planes hitting the Towers. My dad who was a New York Police Officer ( now retired) at the time of 9-11 has a very had time dealing with the memories of this day. I called him and all he keep saying is I will never forgot the clouds of smoke and the people running ever where. He took pictures of loved ones that were in the Towers at the Crisis center. He then had to go to the remains of the towers. I am just glad that my dad is still with us!! For all the families that lost someone on 9-11 my heart goes out to you!!!!

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN 9-11-01

Lynn: Wow what a cutie pie!! Those pixs sure did bring a smile to my face.

K-E-L-L-Y and Cheri: just be happy you didn't grow up with my name....I had to listen to my dad sing (off key I might add) to Meryl Haggard's song "I'm proud to be an okie from muscogee" it was baaaadddd real baaaaadd!!

Have a great day....Okie :)

I don't really have anything worthwhile to say, I was just very bored and wanted to post on here to keep us near the top, and working towards that 3000 post goal for our thread.

But heck, I think we ought to shoot big and set a goal of 4,000 posts by the time the cruise gets here! Whaddya think? Are you with me? (Why do I suddenly feel like I am in an old Mickey Rooney movie?)

Alright! 4000 it is!
Lynn: cool son! Is he going on the trip? There's a place for everyone on board!

Party!!!

Have nothing to say!!!
Hmm... Sup? I just had a poptart! Yay! There's some left over space between my ears!

Bananas!!!

Ahh... None the less, may God bless us all on this day and all others.

Hey Everyone-

Lynn - I love the pics of your DS. I know what you mean about the sadness today...I'm in Central NJ and 9-11 hit this area pretty hard. A young man from my Church had his son baptised on Sunday 9-9-01 and then on 9-11 he was in NY at the Twin Towers and didn't make it out. I still see his wife and kids at Church and my heart still breaks for her :sad1:

I can't believe how raw the emotions still are from that day even now, 5 years later.
I'm sending this out to everyone :grouphug:

Oh, Mutt - I'm ok with the K-e-l-l-y thing...it makes me smile :)

Not much else going on here...just the usual running around of kids to activities and the first Back to School Night tonight for DD (10) - did I mention that I'm now the parent of a Middle Schooler :faint:

See ya all later-
Kelly

Okay, finally calmed down a bit. Coffe goes strait to my head. Only joking!
Heard the ISS docked today and they should be right now... hmm...gotta check my schedule... they're going to sleep at 4:15 PM until 12:15 tommorrow morning. Then Taner and Pipergo out in space to begin their work (EVA or Extra Vehicular Activity) at 5:15 AM. Good luck to them. The work will last six hours. And you thought you job was tough?

You wanna see them do it live? Go to http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/ and click on
"Watch With Windows Media (Best for Full Screen)" if you have Windows XP.
Remember: the EVA begins at 5:15 AM until 11:15 AM. :thumbsup2

Yes, DS is coming on the cruise!! You are there is something for every age on the Dinsey cruise. !! He will be 7 month old on his 1st cruise!! Lucky kid if you ask me!!

I am helping with the 4000 post goal, not much going on here today is my dads birthday so we are going to his house for cake tonight.

Lynn we can't wait to see the baby

Wendy

Lynn, your son is so adorable. He really mad me smile. While I often glad that I'm done with babies. I can't believe my little one will be close to 5 when we cruise. I'm feeling it even more as I transfer my videos over. Seeing my 13 year old at 2 bring back a lot of memories.

Cruise question: My hubby and I were thinking of doing the couples villa at the spa. Has anyone done this and is it worth the price? It looks like to have to book it once onboard. Do you think we'll have any trouble?

What is the earliest time we can get to the terminal. How early will they board. We will be driving to the ship. Our current plan is to drive to Jacksonville on Friday and then get up very early Saturday to get to the ship. I was trying to figure out what time we would need to leave to get there.

If we don't want to do excursions or eat at Palos, is there anything else we should book online?

Happy Monday!

Yes, this is truly a sad day. I was crying on my way to work this morning while listening to the local radio station. Lots of people calling in to share their experience the morning of 9/11. It was very sad. It is so true that we must never forget! Andy & I were fortunate that our family members that worked in NYC were safe.

Pat, It was slim pickins for our Palo Ressies too. I couldn't get any except dinner the day we get on the ship!!!! I guess I'll have to wait until we board. At least I was able to sign the kids up for the kids program.

Lynn, your son is so adorable!!!

Enjoy your evening!

Good afternoon all!

Just adding to the post count & nana count! :cool1: Someone quick do the math -- how may posts per day to meet Bob's lofty goal of 4000 by departure? :confused3

Let's all pitch in & do our part!

Lynn -- just love those pictures!! They put a smile on my face ;) on such a sad day.

Talk to you all later.

Cheri

Good evening, Banana Heads

Busy day at work! Kinda nice ... those days go the quickest!

Lynn: I don't know what it is about babies in jeans but they are so cute!

Jan: I had to laugh when I read your post about warning Sunny! Yeah, he THINKS he's ready for us :rotfl2: That may be the day that he gives up the trade! So how many does that make us now with Steve and Pat? Like 25 or something around there?

Hey Wendy ... notice that as soon as we requested Jamie's valium, things got quiet on her end?? Hmmm ... me thinks she's keeping it all to herself. :rotfl:

Cheri: Jeff Spicoli rocks! :smokin: "Aloha, Mr. Hand"

Carrie: I don't have any real answers for you, but take note: The earlier you get to the terminal, the more cat-fighting you will have to do with Kathy and Wendy to be first in line to board! :lmao:

Shell, Jan: For your Sunny counting; it is Steve(my dh), me, Stephen (which you all know him as Steve - it's a mom thing), Esther, and the kids.
The car's fixed    :cheer2: :car:
Question: Can you order balloons from the ship? Esther and I are celebrating our b'day on the cruise and I wanted to have balloons delivered to her. Can you do that?
Pat
