Hello everyone - hope you are enjoying your long-weekend! Everyone  for me - I am busy :surfweb: at work today. And....our transit authority is on a wildcat strike as of this morning's rush-hour so I have NO idea how long it will take me to get home and it's HOT outside today - probably around 85 with the humidex which is hot for us this time of year.

Enjoy your BBQs and other fun activities!

Howdy everyone,

Hey Denise, did you notice your post was #1000 for this thread. :thumbsup2 That is a special number that a lot of threads never make it to.

Bill, My DH took your idea of "relaxation" for the weekend to heart. In 3 days he has had 3 naps in his recliner. I think that is enough relaxing for awhile!!!

Well we are BBQ ing steaks this afternoon and jumping in the pool. That's about it for today. as was already stated, tomarrow is Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to work we go!!!! :sad2:

Kathy

Hope everyone is having a great day. DW and I spent the morning looking at cars. The one we had been looking at, they weren't apparently that interested in selling it. So, the search continues.

Have a great Monday!

Wow ... what a great LONG weekend! I took Friday off and got a very much needed massage, and then our weather finally broke and it warmed up ... WAY up! In one week we literally went from 2 frost warnings to 90 degrees today. Amazing. That's Ohio weather for you. But twas a great weekend regardless ... got the rest of the mulch spread, got a nice sunburn on my back and the start of sun poisoning  Heck, I'll take it all if it means I can finally put my coats away!!!

So Kathy and Denise ... it would seem that since I've been here somehow this became the Love Boat thread! :rotfl2: You are too much!

Short work week ... :cheer2:

good morning everyone, :sunny:

Your right Shell,
We are matchmaking without their knowledge of course, in hopes of getting a few more grandkids!!! :rotfl2: It would help if they were all going to be on the ship too! But we can dream about it :cloud9:

we have more brush fires burning again this morning. 2 main routes to the port are closed again. :sad2: Fortunately no ships for DCL going out today. I hope they will burn down again by thursday so all the people driving to the port wont have delays and problems.

Hope you all have a great day,
Kathy :yay:

I dont wanna go back to work~....c'mon, sing it with me. You all know the words.
Hope everyones Tuesday after the holiday is goin good. (Anyone here think they could invent a time-machine? I'll throw in the first $10 grant....)
Enjoy....

I don't wanna be at work, either!

I wanna be in the pool/lake/ocean or whatever, just not at work. Heck, I would even settle for a water hazard at the golf course! pirate:

Bad, indeed!

Hey Mr. Frugal (read: Cheap), did you dust off the wallet and buy your wife a car?!

Speaking of car talk!
DH and I are car shopping tomorrow.
We have not bought a car in 9 years, so I think it's about time.
We have put 180,000 miles on our dodge stratus in that time, and things are starting to break... :confused3
Oh well, DH has had his eye on the PT Cruisers since they came out, so now he can have his car. :sunny:
Have a great weekend!!!! I can't believe we are within the 6 month time frame before our cruise!! I have to pack!!! ;)
:hourglass

Let me know if you purchased one yet.....Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep is the store I manage....

We are planning on going there towards the end of June....and yes....that is what you thought it was. :drinking1

Ron - nice car! :thumbsup2

My friend is in love with the new Jeep (insert correct name here) - the big SUV-type one. It looks more like a bus than a car lol. I can just imagine you deal with people like me every day(ok, not to get sexist here but likely women) who buy more on the colour and 'aww that's cute' than knowing anything about the car LOL. Hey - we fit that extended warranty niche anyway, cause if my car ain't workin for some reason I have NO IDEA what to do. God love DH for that - he's my car-knight :teeth:

Anyway - I need everyone's help PLEASE:

I am planning on flying down using Airmiles out of Toronto (we usually fly SWA out of BUF but I have just enough Miles). Well I called Airmiles today and they only have flights out on Thursday Nov 23rd, your Thanksgiving. I am thinking - OK, we can just stay down the Thurs and Fri night and head to the Port Saturday. But....now my Disney mind is going - OK, 2 days....we could do some Parks in 2 days....we could stay on property for 2 days....the possibilities are endless!!!!!!!!! (My husband just shakes his head :confused3 ). So what I am wondering is - should be think about staying on site and maybe going to AK (DSs favorite) and maybe one more Park - or even a waterpark? Should we stay onsite (thinking AKL again as it's close to AK, but we've stayed at WL, AKL, Poly, POR and enjoyed them all). Or should we avoid WDW like the plague because Thanksgiving crowds will be insane (we always travel in low season). We have one night booked at the new REsidence Inn in Cocoa Beach and I suppose we could go down a day earlier and do some stuff on the Coast? It's just hard to be so close to WDW and not go!!! Also - a friend's parents have a place in Vero Beach - is that close to the Port - could I see if we could stay there for 2 nights, rent a car and boot around???

Any advice is appreciated!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :grouphug:

Just wanted to say bye :wave2:
We leave in the morning for Disney so I will talk with ya'll in 2 weeks when we return. :yay:
Kathy can you let me know about the brush fires I am a little worried about getting to the port on Thursday. :guilty:
Wendy

Wendy,
the fires are still bad and roads are closed. I tchanges constantly. Use a pay phone and call 511 for road reports before you leave for the port. Plus near the tickert and transportation parking lot therre is a AAA building. They could give you information too, maybe even detour info. I think you should be able to get some information at your hotel too. Lots of people will be cruising too and will have the need to know.

Just remember to leave early so you have plenty of time. I know HWY 50 is closed this morning already. There are 3 major fires this morning.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

Lots of pixie dust coming your way pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I will offer this one piece of information and let you decide if it will help you make your decision. Thanksgiving weekend (Thurs. - Sunday) is typically one of the busiest weekends for WDW. This is due to the fact that most Americans have an automatic 4 day weekend, so they don't have to take vacation (holiday) time from work to have 4 days in Orlando. Based on the stories I have heard, you couldn't PAY me to go to WDW that weekend. Although DW and I will most likely be staying on property on Friday night (11/24), we won't go anywhere near the parks.
