Here is a picture of DH with Minnie and Poncho, taken last week while I was dog sitting. Kathy

Poncho looks exactly like our Sammy! (except maybe a little shorter).

Ok, last picture I promise.
I am just tryimg things to add to our count and I really dont have anything to write, so I am doing pictures instead. Here is one more picture of Poncho waiting for us to remove the fence so he can go swimming and Minnie whimpering trying to get him NOT to go swimming since she hates the water!!

I know they cant compare to Lynn's cutie pie, but they are all I have around here.

Cheri: I'm a huge fan of The Office! The whole Pam/Jim thing has me on the edge of my seat (what a cutie he is, huh?). In fact, I've taken a few helpful hints from the show as well. A couple of months ago, I "stole" another girls' stapler here in the office and took it home, made a bunch of yellow jello, put the stapler inside, and left it on her desk one Monday morning :rotfl2:. I cannot properly describe the hilarity that ensued, but I had people from all over the office stopping over at her desk just to see it, and it was a riot (that is, until she had to clean the stapler out in the lunch room. Apparently, it's harder to clean out than you would think! And yet I was finding bits and pieces of yellow jello all over the place :rotfl: ). She still says she's gonna get me back, but I'm not worried :smooth: .
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Are you friends with the vending machine filler? You could always put desk items in there!

I think I like how they added the other office to the mix. I was wondering how the Jim/Pam thing would work out -- so far this adds to the plot.

Being the bad parent I am, DD has watched almost every episode of the show. I told her she couldn't recite quotes from the show at school, especially after I heard her say, "Downsizing is a B***H!" I could've died of mortification right there. :rolleyes1 Luckily we were home and no one else heard her.

Oh, the Vending Machine!!! Classic!!! :rotfl: Remember when Jim kept putting one nickel in Dwight's phone over time and then one day took them all out and Dwight about knocked himself out when he picked up the receiver? :happytv:

I have to jump into this conversation, not to be Dwight like, but have you guys seen the British version on public TV? They run it here late at night on Sat. right before Monty Python. It is hilarious. I didn't think it could be any funnier than our version but it is, I feel like an idiot laughing at 11 at night by myself. Interestingly enough it looks like the Dwight equivalent is played by the guy from POTC that has the fake eye.

Good afternoon Nanas!

Kathy - Great pictures! The dogs look so sweet & innocent! I think those old covered bridges are so neat. We went to see the actual Bridges od Madison County in Iowa. Apparently they were having a real problem with vandals at one point.

I like seeing the "real" places where movies were filmed. Our office is about a block from where Groundhog Day was filmed.

Speaking of dress codes -- we are pretty relaxed in our office (It's really just DH & me -- we have another assistant who works about 10-15 hours/wk). We're in the insurance business and we have a lot of walk-ins, but since many of our clients are farmers and "non-executive-types," we try not to look too stuffy. So far, I don't think we've lost any business because of being down-to-earth people. :confused3

Better get back to work (at home now). Then it's time to prep for DWtS! :rotfl:

Talk to you later!

Cheri

P.S. Eight does seem young for the under garment items previously mentioned (is that better Bob??!! :bitelip: ). But I've seen (at Kohl's) them in the little girl section -- as in, right next to items for 3-4 YO girls!!! :sad2:  Just think of it as wearing a swim suit top under a shirt. :thumbsup2

No, I haven't seen the British version. I remember always seeing previews for it on BBC America, but I never sat down to watch. Maybe I'll do a search to see if we can get it here.

I'm surprised by the success of the American version, since usually spin-offs of British hits don't make it. I've been watching this since day one, kind of rooting for it to make it! :thumbsup2

Shell -- the nickel thing is classic! I was thinking of bringing a George Foreman grill on the cruise so we can have bacon right when we wake up each morning. :stir:

Good Afternoon. I think I've finally caught up reading, but now I can't remember what I wanted to say to everyone. Oh Well.

I love the Amazing Race. I don't watch much TV, especially since i started digital scrapbooking. I didn't realize it had started already. I tuned in this Sunday thinking it was the 1st episode. I was so mad when I realized it wasn't. Definately some interesting competitors this year.

I started watching The Office on BBC America well before the American show started. I even had my dh hooked. I laughed so hard I cried everytime I watched it. I do like the NBC version. It's the only sitcom I watch regularly.

I did start watching Dancing with the Stars but only because DH started first. He has a thing for Sara Evens. :rolleyes1 Once she's gone we probably won't watch anymore.

Those dogs are so cute. I think one of them was smiling in the picture.

Lynn, in the long run it really won't matter when your son starts sleeping through the night. It seems like they grow so quickly, I wish I could spend a few more nights with my kids as babies. I am probably not the best to give sleeping advice though. All three of our kids slept with us until they were at least 2. We never used a crib. I was told by lots of people they would have horrible sleeping problems. But they all sleep like bricks. We even had the smoke alarms go off one night and had to wake the kids up (scary).

Hope everyone has a great evening. I have to play a quick game of cards, take my oldest to Girl Scouts and cook dinner. Then I hope to scrap one more page tonight.

LONG OVERDUE GREETINGS FELLOW NANAS!

Had problems with the back and computer hook up but now we're up and running again!

RUNA - Sorry we missed you at the Irish Festival. Crazy fun, huh?

JOSH - Did your mom tell you that we're neighbors. I actually drove through your neck of the woods today on my way to Price's Corner to do some cruise shopping. My kids like Boomers - are you far from there?

It took me such a long time to read 30 pages of posts. You are all serious about this 4,000 posting goal, aren't you?

Now that I'm up to speed, I need to feed my kids (I'm gonna make myself some dang quesa-dillas) and get to bed early. We went to see the Blue Man Group :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: last night and it was a pretty late evening. We're all shot.

Have a good night all! :wave2:

Steve, I've never seen the British version either, but I believe that I read somewhere that the actors from that version will be guest starring throughout the season on ours. Also, I noticed your reference to Monty Python, so I ask you ...
What is your name?
What is your quest?
What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

You think you're competitive, this summer we created the Amazing Race disney style to play while we were there in June. It was the kids versus my sister and I the plan was to let them win but put on a good show. The loser had to sing for she's or he's a jolly good fellow at beaches and cream. Needless to say that never happened we got so into it that we were in hysterics racing against the kids and worse even we won and made them sung to us. :lmao:

:wave2: Hello everyone....wow I cannt belive how many post's we have got. Great job....I would love to get on at work, but they frown on that so I'm such a good girl I really try and listen to the rules....until the cat goes away....!!!!!

Anyhow: Kathy the dogs are soooo cute.
Cindilu: I got my DD her "undergarment" at age 10. There is a cute story that goes with this..if she found out I told everyone this she would not be really happy with me :furious: but hey.....she dosent read these boards and she is like a million miles away so here goes:
We get her the training bra its summer. So DH gets home from work and I tell him we got her the bra and she is wearing it...make some comment to her.We are in the kitchen she is sitting at the table, DH say's Heather, do you have your swim suit on under your clothes? She stands up faces him, pulls up her shirt and say's This is a bra not a swim suite..the look on Wally's face was priceless.... :rotfl:
Anyway, if her friends are starting to get them, she may just want to fit in.

I will be back later and try and make up for lost time.

Hi     's and Turkeys!

What a crazy day...I've been running since 8:45 this morning. Long day including a dentist visit for a cleaning - uugghh!

Cindilu...my DDalmost 11) kind of started to (ahem...Bob stop reading now....) "develop" a little early and quite honestly she looks a heck of a lot better with one on then without one. She started waering one when she turned 9 and I feel it was necessary. Ok...enough of THAT conversation :rolleyes1

Lynn - I agree with everyone else - this too shall pass - and I will tell you that we went thru something VERY similar with our DD. It was like clockwork...every other night she would wake up. Many nights my DH laid on the living room couch and she went to sleep on his belly. I was NOT a friendly person to be around...I need my sleep. Hang in there!

I'm not an executive or a country girl....just a stay at home Mom who never seems to be at home! I'm always running somewhere or doing something! I used to help run a small family business and I loved it but I enjoy being a Mom and having the opportunity to be home. However...I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up!!

Have a great night everyone!

Hey fourfoxesinpa: you have no idea how close to our house you are when you are at boomers-we live about 4 miles or so from there-just one more exit up on the rt 1 bypass-we too shop at Prices corner-funny huh!?!

I feel bad for you guys that do have to dress up for work-I get to go to work everyday in scrubs--it's like wearing you pj's to work-it's great :thumbsup2

The nursing home we took my mom to didn't get her IV antibiotic as they were supposed to or her pills-she called me at 12:30am-yes A.M. for me to pick her up-she was there 11 hours and signed herself out A.M.A (against medical advice) because her IV meds are all screwed up-back to the hospital ER we went-what a mess!! :sad2:

Have a great night everyone.....Okie

:woohoo: I also get to wear scrubs to work everyday. I love it....dont have to worry about what am I going to wear tomorrow.

Well it looks like Jerry made it through another week on dancin.....poor Harry oh well....I think it going to come down to Mario and Joey....they seem to be the best so far.
