Does anyone have any reviews on taking part in Animal Kingdom's Wild Africa Trek? Also what is the price per person? Annual Passholder discount?

DH & I went in September. Loved it. CMs were great. We had a small group (only 6) so it was very nice. Saw lots of animals. You really are much closer than the Safari ride. CMs take pictures the entire time and the pictures were very good overall. You are given a website and password at the end so you can retrieve the pictures yourself. Food was interesting. Are going again this summer when we are there. I don't remember the price-there is a pass holder discount but it doesn't always apply-at least the time frame we wanted was not available. If you can do it, I would strongly suggest it!

Were you able to see the rest of the park after your trek. Thinking about doing this with my daughter but we only have one day to see all of AK. It's her first trip shes 11 sis hell want to ride the rides and see the shows as well

We went to the first tour of the day. We finished with plenty of time to do everything we wanted to do in the park.

Thank you tsme. I would reserve the first tour as well since we r going late August early September.

We went in May, and we did the 1pm Wild Africa Trek, it was AWESOME.

The 1pm was pretty great for a couple reasons. We were able to do everything we wanted in the parks before the trek, with very minimal waits (it was the morning after all). The trek (and showing up a little early for it) took up the busiest portion of the day. By the time the trek was over it was late afternoon and once again there were almost no waits for anything, we were able to ride EE over and over again :)

But the trek is fantastic !

Thank you for the info. I can see why 1pm would be a good time. I'm just concerned of heat and storms the beginning of September. I've been going back and forth about the Trek and still have time to decide but I think my daughter would just absolutely LOVE this trek. Based on what everyone is writing on DIS I think I really should splurge and book this trip. Thank you

I did this with a niece the first year it was offered & we booked the first morning trek. Had a great experience. It was a bit cooler earlier in the morning so the animals were more active. While some things may have changed over the years, I remember the hippo was incredible. It loved those watermelon. The walk over the crocodiles could be a bit intense for younger children but think there is a minimum age to participate. Maybe check out youtube for updated videos? Enjoy.

We went on the 10:15 am tour. It let us get to the park early but not crack of dawn (we like to sleep in a little on vacation). We wandered around a little after checking in then went back to get our harnesses and radios, etc. We did most of the trek then stopped to have lunch. We got done around 1:00ish. We had time to ride some rides when we got done and left the park around 4. It was hot but we saw all the animals even the lion which we usually can't see when we do the Safari ride. It was really terrific. Can't wait to do it with our kids this summer!
