We made 8:45 reservations. How early should we arrive and where do we go?? This will be our first time and really excited

I think you're supposed to arrive 15 minutes early. If you're too early they tell you to come back at the appointed time(that was the case when I went). The checkin is to the right of the entrance to the safari ride. Make sure you read the info about what shoes, etc. you should wear. I would recommend sneakers or closed toe shoes. You are walking through the woods on a trail for part of the tour. When I went one guy showed up in flip flops. They told him that he couldn't go on the tour if they didn't have spare crocs to fit him(he had really large feet-- they did have a pair to fit him). Something else to keep in mind, you put everything in a locker and your camera has to be able to clip on to you. Other than that, they give you water and bug spray for the tour. I really enjoyed this tour! I hope you do too.

We just did the Africa trek last week, it was great.

Sounds like you will arrive before park opening, so I guess you will need to speak to a cast member to get in. You should be there by 8:30 at the very latest.

Formal check in is near the fast pass entrance to the safari ride. There was also a cast member at the entrance, after bag check but before magic band swiping, to check you in and provide directions. It is at least a 10 minute walk from the gate.
